Cheers sooty. it's good to hear a solid defense of Craig Pope from the United side. If this information had been put forward by Histon i'm sure it would have been condemned by some as propoganda. I've always thought the club were doing the right thing in backing Craig despite all the condemnation they have received for this.
I hope we can now all move on and concentrate on football. After Craig has served his suspension he's going to find it hard to get back into the team as Lanre is playing so well.

what happens now with pope then I thought we all knew he was back in the fold. It was common knowledge on the coach.

Lanre is great. He's probably just as good as Craig, but with two advantages. He's not afraid of getting forward, and he can take corners! ;D

We can't appeal, as it was turned down. We just have to hate the FA for the remainder of Pope's carreer

The FA DO think he did, even though about 1000 people don't. He is serving his ban now. He has to accept it. If their is some knid of investigation (which is highly unlikely) and the FA see sense about hat they have done, then they may retract his fine and he gets his money back. Otherwise, nothing will happen

Well, if you read Sooty'sextremely long report, both Histon fan's and Sooty (a Cambridge United fan) have come to the conclusion that he did NOT say anything racially abusive. That is a fact. Craig Pope only used what the referee called 'industrial language' (crup, shet, duck etc.), which means that Craig Pope IS innocent, just nothing can be done to change the ruling. So, in answer to your question Sweep, yes, Craig swore, but he didn't racially abuse anyone, nore, I expect, has he ever done in his life

No they don't Sooty has proved that he didn't. And even if they do, you have to remember, they don't have enough brains to fill a fish bowl. As I said to halftimebeer "Even if United fans call ex. United fans that now support Histon 'glory hunters', they may be, but at least they have the brains to know to use the lifeboats to get off a sinking ship." My advice Sweep is ignore them. We'll prove them wrong time and time again like we did with Kings Lynn, Bedford and Cambridge City. We'll eventually come out on top. We allways do
