Sorry folks if this is annoying to you all, but I really must stand up for myself against a couple of nasty, vindictive individuals from the City fans forum.
Read their posts if you wish, but it's probably best that you didn't, for the sake of decency..
And decency is a word that cannot be accredited to anything that emanates from their pathetic, juvenile, and offensive forum.
Warne and Barnes are a pathetic little pair of individuals. If I had been involved with the Club i'd have been rid of the two of them. Both foul mouthed terrace offenders.
Let me make it perfectly clear that my allegiance is now with the Stute's, purely and simply because Histon FC is a very decent and friendly Football Club, as opposed to what we read on their site. I had attempted to diffuse the situation with a pm to Kevin Satchell, their Chairman, but his answer was short and sharp; that an Unofficial Fans Forum had nothing to do with the Football Club, and comments thereon was nothing to do with him or the club.
Those two who posted have all their facts wrong, and Dave Pettengell, the website administrator knows that certain comments are either deliberate lies or assumption. Their vitriol is totally unjustified.
After a lifetime of supporting City, I have re-directed my allegiance to the Stutes.
Pete Betson and I were actually original members of Histon Youth Team in 1963, together with a few names synonymous with the Club, so it's not as if I'm a Johnny Come Lately. I played At Bridge Road many times in the late 60's/early 70's against Histon for Ely City with the likes of Vic Wells and others.
I am now proud and happy to frequent the GWS as often as I can, bearing in mind I have lived in Peterborough for over 40 years. So,despite what Barnes alleges, it's not a short term thing.
I like it at Histon. Me and a few ex City fans enjoy it. It's a good and friendly atmosphere.
