Does no one want to talk about today's game? Mom was Nesbitt as he kept us in the game during the first half. Thought the whole team did well again today until they went down to 9 men then we just did not seem to know what to do. The ref's in this league need to start thinking before showing yellows so early in a game, although Rushden did completely loose the plot today, and how Pat did not get sent off is beyond me. Still a very good three points and a good chance to boo a certain ex united player.Good show with 165 stutes today and a lot of noise. Completed the first five tricky games with 2 wins, 2 draws and one loss which I think is very good, oh and United lost - oh what a shame!!

Hops, you the Histon crowd mention booing one of their players. Wondered if there were any particularly strong tackles in the game?

Seem to remember an ex united player getting upended once but apart from that the ex united player seemed to keep his head down. There was a mass handbags fight but again he stayed out of it.

Very quiet on here, considering we took 162 to an exciting and intriguing game.
I thought we might struggle with such a makeshift side, but far from it. We played pretty well until the two sending offs, although we had to thank Danny Naisbett for keeping us in the game. Jamie Barker looked stretched at left back, and Ben Coker looked a bit exposed at times when he replaced him. I really don't know why he was so exposed when we had 2 more players on the pitch. We weren't able to change our game plan after the sending offs. Our usual game of pressing and long balls into the channels was just not appropriate under those circumstances. We needed to keep the ball better.
I thought Neil and Kingy in the heart of midfield worked well. Really please to see Patrick starting as he is a quality player.

another fantastic win against rushden. i guess we should come to expect it! haha. in all seriousness, i am glad i don't support them. what an awful way to play football! i know we are known, in some circles, as an 'in-your-face' kind of team, but they were just violent! i was suprised they only had 4 bookings! considering how much money they have thrown out this summer signing payers such as phillips, clare and now leon knght, (who i thought was pretty poor!) i was very disappointed to see so many dives, calling for yellow cards and bad fouls from them. I am not being naive, i know this happens in football, and we as a team know how to make a foul or too! in my opinion they were worse than crawley at home last season. But hey ho we beat both of them! on a more positive side, i thought we were better than them on and off the pitch! before the incident happened just before half time, i thought we were playing the better football, although nessie did have to pull of a couple of blinders to keep us in it! jack and robbie were switching wings like giggs & ronaldo, and for most of the first half, we had them on the ropes! In my opinion, a deserved victory, although it would have been nice for the old ticker, if we could have killed them off by scoring a third, or just taking the pace off the match. having said that, that is what being a histon fan is all about, missing heart-beats, chewing finger nails etc etc. And finally, I have to mention the most sour of football fans who we spoke to outside the ground. sour grapes doesn't describe it well enough. a great way to get back into the swing of things for me. i missed the burton game as i was at reading festival, so was keeping up to date by text and mobile internet! 8 points from 5 difficult opening games is very good!!

It was a good strong display against a very negative and "professional "outfit. We have hard a hard start but have come through it well. Nessie was outstanding today and so was the noise. Well done all. Mr W looked out of sorts, maybe his actions are starting to sink in but I doubt it. Only down side for me was our inability to muller a side with nine men on the field. Plan B would have been good....but hey,we got six points over the weekend and Gary B said United looked a little lightweight or words to that effect. It will be like getting hit by a train at xmas then

Thanks for the write-ups. I couldn't make the game, even tho it was pretty close, as i was travelling back from a bank holiday weekend break. I received the scores by txt while on the M6 and when they won well.... was a great great great result. Think we are are doing extremely well and doing more than holding there own already!!! and, yes, against some tough fixtures. Great workrate & composure even when being kicked to bits! by the sounds of it. Histon are looking like a very decent team this season and are looking like the team to try and beat. Cheers One happy fan. :-)

Twas an excellent win, although the nerves were jangling once again. We should of course been able to put the game beyond their reach, but as is so often the case teams that lose men rally to the cause. Still, will not be critical here as it was always going to be a real tough one and the team did very well, after all i am sure we would all have taken a point prior to the game. A worry for me though, was the way they got behind us with realtive ease down the left flank which caused us problems. Mind you i thought the lad coker did really well, coming into the game just as we came under some sustained pressure.

Feel we need GG back to give us a bit more strength their. We have this inability to kill games off anyway.

Coker did OK, nothing more, he made a few poor decisions but u expect that from a less experienced player.
