Time for us all to get behind the players and management that are staying until the end of the season. I'm not expecting any results for the rest of the year. But If we do pick up points all the better but I suspect our league next season will have nothing to do with the final position in April. Respect to those that stay on and lets keep as positive as we can.

That all sounds fine but who is going to pay for the coach, refs, etc we are potless, its time for people to chip in for mundane stuff ie someone could sponsor the kit washing, etc, this is the help they need.

I am afraid that the silence on this notice board, last post 24 hours ago, sums Histon FC up !

I think people are waiting for news. There has been nothing from the club. Have players left? Have staff left? Have people stayed? What will be happening Saturday?
I have seen over 60+ guests viewing the forum at times this week, so interest is there.
We need some news from the club.

Help is what they need, not viewing figures, I just hope people are going down the club to offer help instead of reading this.

I apologize for hijacking this thread, however, it has come to my attention this morning that urgent action needs to be taken by the fans to help to ensure a long-term future of Histon Football Club. I understand that negotiations are ongoing in an attempt to secure a firm financial footing for the future. These negotiations would be greatly strengthened if it were possible to demonstrate that the fans were prepared to offer financial backing to the club in the short-medium term. It is for this reason that this new Supporters Initiative" is being launched. It is for this latter reason that I am now making this plea.
Stage 1 of the 'Save the Stutes 2014' initiative is to seek expressions of interest from supporters of the club who may be prepared to make a small monthly donation to the club for the remainder of this season and throughout the the 2014/15 season. We very much appreciate that times are hard for everyone, therefore there is no minimum contribution, however, a small monthly donation of £20 each month would go a long way towards demonstrating the future financial viability of the Club.
Unfortunately, the timetable for expressing support for this scheme is governed by the ongoing financial negotiations and is, therefore, necessarily tight. With this in mind it would be enormously helpful if by 12 noon tomorrow (13th March 2014) any fan who would be prepared to support this new initiative could either reply to this email or contact Val Graves direct on 07955242340, indicating:
(a) their support for this initiative; (b) that they would be interested in making a small monthly donation to support the club until the end of the 2014/15 season; and (c) offering some indication of the value of the monthly donation that they would be prepared to make (it is essential that the accountants have an idea of the potential revenue to be generated in this way - Val would be happy to talk to you directly about this).
I look forward to hearing from you and hope that together we can take Histon FC forward in a brighter more stable future, with the fans as its focus.
(I realize there are many unanswered questions about the future structure and running of the club but these will be addressed once the financial viability of the business is established).

histonfan01 I can assure you I am doing my bit, I am not slating the fans as you put it but I am pointing out as with the reply above action is needed by us not hand wringing, I apologise if you think that is the case.

SAVE THE STUTES 2014 - SUPPORTERS INITIATIVE
I would like to start by thanking all those who have read and responded to the message I placed on this forum yesterday. Your help is greatly appreciated and the offers of assistance received so far are nothing short of amazing. Please do not worry if there is a short delay before you hear anything further since this is whilst we await the outcome of other ongoing negotiations. Rest assured we will be back in touch.
In my earlier message I indicated that we needed to hear from any supporters prepared to offer small monthly donations to help support the club financially until the end of the 2014/15 season, by 12 noon today (13th March 2014). Given the degree of success so far, we would like to encourage any supporters of Histon Football Club who have not so far come forward to continue to make contact with Val Graves on 07955 242340, even if this is after the initial 12 noon deadline. The more support we can demonstrate, the greater the likelihood of a successful outcome to the ongoing financial negotiations.
Once again, thank you all so much for your kind words and generous commitments towards ensuring a bright future for Histon Football Club. Perhaps spring really has arrived at last not only for the country but particularly for our club.
Please keep reading this and ringing Val. Best Wishes.

agreed well done prospero. Just to clarify that my original post was to make sure that we backed the players through this difficult time. i'm sure we are all backing the club with funds if possible and helping out in anyway we can. not sure what you meant by 'handwringing' anewfan. no wonder no one puts stuff on here. I get most of my info from the twitter feed these days

Just seen this - Is it now too late to get touch about making a small monthly donation. I could give some money a month.
As for other things I was looking on the City forum and apparently Tony Roach was seen sitting in the stand with Dama on Saturday? Not sure if any of you lot saw them but I hope Tony doesn't come back.

What a great move from the players, only four leaving, the rest staying and playing for free, not even expenses and there is a lot of travelling for them to do.It is a great sign of respect for Histon fc,Brian and that small band of supporters and volunteers. I am not having a pop at the four lads that have gone, I do not know there personal circumstances nor do I wish to, they all owe Histon, not a penny and good luck to them in there careers. But in this age of money grabbing,me me me, footballers is it not refreshing to see a group of very good footballers stand up for there manager and club in very difficult circumstances, I am sure every one of them has been approached by other clubs offering them a wage. Do not forget most of these players could demand far higher wages than Histon pay.I am proud of every single one, does anyone know a national paper sports reporter this must make a superb story, come on Swanny,I know you read these comments, you are missing a great headline not just for your station, get your name n the back pages with a couple of interviews with these lads, brian, etc.
