Been down the ground volunteering with jobs around the ground, no sign of any hist members. Have they all gone on holiday with our donation money and golden goal profit or has Hist gone bust?
Remember Hist a club is for 12 months a year not just when there is a match on.

Well Doctor Histon that's a strange comment to make. Our Secretary Richard Barlow has been cleaning gutters, cutting back vegetation etc and I helped Joy paint the entire media suite. I also offered to power wash the Hill's Residential Boards but was told not to work up a ladder on my own during the week ( and I am a transplant patient ). We still exist and our website contains latest updates (even out of season). Currently we are looking at the real possibility of donating £500 pounds to sponsor Brian Page for the season and are also interested in helping the U21's long term. It is not easy when you have a Board of only seven and we need about twelve. Our members were informed of all the job's that need doing at the ground but we are not responsible if no one takes up the challenge. I applaud you for whatever you are doing and I am sure the club were very grateful but being negative about HIST is not the way to move our club forward. The Board work very hard to run this Trust and it takes up a lot of our collective time. If you feel that strongly please do feel free to join us and help, you will be made very welcome. If you could see what we do at each meeting and the long list on our agenda for projects to help reintegrate HFC with the local community I am sure you would agree. It is very rewarding but we have broad shoulders whatever the comments. All constructive criticism is very welcome. It's what we have a Board for. When Russell called for a group to set up a Trust to help the club we stood up to the plate and to date we have-:
Contributed £1,150 towards the cost of travelling to away matches, including the cost of the coach which took the youth team to Bradford City for their FA Youth Cup 3rd round match in January 2013.
Operated the SOS Club, raising £200 per month which is passed on directly to the club as a contribution toward the club’s running costs.
Participated in the club’s Community Liaison Group.
Donated £2,000 towards player salaries in April 2014.
Run the club shop on behalf of the club.
Donated £300 to the club to cover the cost of essential medical equipment.
Donated £1,750 towards the cost of pitch maintenance.
Conducted an annual survey of Histon supporters to collect the views and other important data on the club’s most important asset, i.e. its supporters.
Not a bad start on limited funding and a membership of 100.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the first two objectives set by our members to have a HIST representative on the club Board and for our members to have a shareholding in the club have also been achieved.

Thanks Sooty, much appreciated. I will pass that on to our treasurer and get back to you asap. There are two reasons you do not see me on this forum much these days and they are that running the HIST website takes a great deal of time along with other Board related jobs and the fact that for a while there was a lot of unwarranted bile being vented which simply made visiting the forum deeply unpleasant. This thankfully seems to have gone and I am happy to post on here again and renew old friendships while keeping you up to date with what is happening at the Trust.

Spot on about the twelve month season by the way. I think we have been working thirteen in the background. It certainly feels like it. Like I said, join us and see what else goes on. Must get back to counting all the misappropriated funds.....as if.

That attitude got CUFC fans...out of trouble Jasper....and they never knew it!x It amazingly generated about a £4 million investment on that 'pitch'...for the pitch. Jasper, Sooty and the fiendish Doctor Histon
Firstly, many thanks to Jasper for putting the business together for Brian's sponsorship this season for HIST. Jasper is a great ideas man who does what he says and gets the job done. Secondly many thanks to dear old Sooty for his kind donation toward the sponsorship package also. Looking forward to having you as a member of the trust once more.
Lastly, Doctor Histon whoever you may be, you seem to have got your diagnosis wrong as HIST is still very much alive and kicking. We have established ourselves as a proper supporters trust, with a stable membership and funds to help facets of the football club as and when we can. Jasper listed out our achievements so far and going forward we will hopefully be supporting the development of the young local players in the coming weeks & months amongst other interesting projects.
So whoever you may be Dr Histon why not join the trust (if not already a member) and help shape your football club into the future. We would be very interested to hear from you.
David Dean HIST vice chair
