Well it was only a joke, the messages on the large thread seem to be from just one or 2 of the bigheaded Leeds fans who the rest don't associate with. Mike you are correct, 1971 was the year when Leeds lost 3-2 at Layer Road to 4th division Colchester United. We went onto win the trophy vs Arsenal the following year. Actually when you think about it the gap between Leeds and Colchester back then was far bigger than Leeds and Histon now. Leeds have a big task to overcome Northampton, not sure if you watched the game on Friday night but Leeds dominated to no avail. No doubt in there own backyard they will be tougher. But if we do, I look forward to visiting your place. I've seen your still a part time team and have no doubt your players will be very much up for the tie. I hope for our sake the tie gets switched as I'd fancy our chances at Elland Road far more, but I reckon it'll stay at yours and have absolutely no doubt we will have a real hard game on our hands.
Please ignore the numbskull insults, if one thing we've learnt from being relegated twice down to league 1 is that it's been great visiting lots of new grounds and 99% of the time opposition supporters are pleasently surprised by the beahaviour of own. Some supporters live on these messageboards (and subsequently don't go to games) and just like to stir things and wind people up. Please don't fall for it.
Marching on together all the way to Histon!

Nice one leedsjimb0. Yeah I find it very hard to comprehend a reason that Gareth would see fitting to move this tie. Purely for the pride this game will not move, I can promise you that.
Will be an absolutely brilliant game though, Leeds of course English giants and ourselves a battling team it bodes to be a brilliant tie (that is if Leeds win of course). You just have the small matter of overcoming Northampton who will want this equally as much as you do.
I'm not sure who I want anymore, I've yo-yoed between the two but now I really don't mind.

playing Leeds will be more remembered than playing Northampton and there is more prestige in the Leeds tie..................I bet your players would like Leeds, hold us to a draw then a replay back at ER

TBH this is a tie I really didn't want, if we win no-one cares and if we lose we'll never hear the last of it. That said I had no idea Histon were so far up the non league ladder, it's because of this draw I've read up a bit more on you and it's a remarkable story. You're right about your club not moving the tie, whilst it will be a bigger payday, this isn't Man U you're playing, you do have a good chance of beating us, despite what other Leeds fans may think. 2 divsions isn't the hugest gap where cup shocks have happened. I just think that this tie will have a certain element of 'glamour' to it because if you were to look at both clubs placings 5 or 6 years ago then it would've seemed impossible that this fixture would ever take place.
Ultaleeds will you give it a rest, why feel the need to shout about us being a big club, how the hell have you made 52 posts on here already? I'm sure the fans of Histon know about us more than we do them, bit of banter ok, but you don't need to ram it down their throats.

It was only 2 days ago we beat a league 1 club, even though it was swindon.

I doubt our players will be looking for a draw as at home they will be hoping for a sneaky win.
Also yes it would be remember beating leeds more, but think about if we beat northampton then get a premiership team(one that actually still plays there) i think that will be remembered far more.

Sorry Jimbo I diagree, of course this is a big tie for a lot of clubs. Most of the lower league sides where hoping to draw us. When the manager of AFC Wimbledon was asked if he would like to draw MK Dons in the last round he said ''No, I want a big club so I,m hoping for Leeds'', we might be down in league 1 but we all know we will progress back to the Prem sooner than later and all this will be a bad dream. SO to get a non-league team will be a bit of a novelty for the club and fans as it wont happen once we are back where we should be. If we win great if we dont well i always like an underdog to do well and I,m sure Histon will profit from us greatly.

ultraleeds, from reading one of your posts in the other thread do you seriously believe that you will get 200 odd fans going down the Glassworld on Saturday to get vouchers for the game?
If that is the case then I think the vouchers will be on a basis, one voucher, one ticket sort of thing.
I mean this is all speculation, I really have no idea what the people higher up are planning regarding the ticket situation but I'm pretty sure that is what will happen.

I think the biggest thing we have going for us is the very thing that people are discounting and that is the ground. The tightness and close proximity to the crowd is something that certainly worked to our advantage again yesterday and is a major reason why the thought of playing the fixture elsewhere is a non starter. Knowing the management, players and supporters the belief will be there that this is a game that can be won, whoever we play.

All with bigger publicity than yourselves. Hull recently beat tottenham and arsenal as did stoke. When was the last time you beat those

Still big clubs as far as we are concerned And I admire Hull (they have as good a record of promotions as we do), Fulham, O.k. rubbish, but still in Prem. Stoke: Still in Prem. Blackburn: Very good size ground with a half decent crowd and some world class players West Brom: Muppets, agree Wigan: Again, lots of promotions
