Cambs evening news says Harry Norman has signed too. So the defence and goalkeeper isn't far off being sorted.
Such a shame about City. Especially to see news about issues with the budget and the team not being able to train at the end of last season.

Dan Gleason is the new Cambridge City manager. Could be excellent for them, or poor like he was for us. Team played better without him in and the defence organisation never improved after he joined as assistant manager.

Interesting appointment considering that he has no proven track record as a manager. My guess is that City feel they have nothing to lose, and I'd imagine there was hardly a queue of applicants. At least it will free up some of the budget.

Well he made it clear he wanted to go into management so fair enough although as a manager starting out I'm not sure the current set up at City is the best place to throw yourself in. He has a massive task to even keep them in that league in my eyes although on the flip side, if he does then he'll prove he's more than capable as a manager. Despite him possibly not having a massive influence on and off the field here it still leaves a gap to fill. Getting in an experienced head as player coach would be great if fall and the board can find someone!

Good luck to Dan, made no secret that he wanted to progress. Could be a tough job but sounds like he's up for the task.

What I like about this club. Most posts with a City connection do not resort to silly disrespect or abuse. Sensible views on Dan Gleeson's appointment at City. Good luck to him. Didn't see too much, tbh, of any great influence at the GW, but that is not necessarily a criticism of his ability. Hopefully now with Jez,Dan, & Fal involved respectfully, sporting rivalries will now be a little more pleasant.

Good luck Dan, I think you might need it!
I hope we can get an experienced head or two into the squad to replace him, but not at the expense of the budget like last season....

Yes, I genuinely wish Dan Gleeson good luck. After a bit of thought I think he's a good choice. He's got a mighty job clearing up & catching up from a completely inactive close season, and a shocking previous season. It never ceases to amaze me at some of the half wits who comment on City on the their forum. Dan Gleeson IS their new manager and should be supported 100%. He has a good pedigree as a player, and as far as I know a very decent man, and though no managerial experience, everyone starts at that point, and good luck to Dan. Good luck to all local Clubs.

Just one more thing. I like reading all club's forums, and this Eric Way makes me laugh on City's. His latest is particularly comical. Who is he? I remember the real Eric Way back in the 70's. Ex Lynn & City. Absolutely brilliant full back. So this correspondent must be pretty old if he remembers Eric. My suspicions are a close connection, maybe as close as one could get(?), to Mr Roberts, ha ha. You gotta laugh.

Saw that Simon Unwin played for city today. It's one thing for Dan to hop between the two clubs now he's making the transition into management. We ve respected that but if Simon is the first of a potential few to be swayed over there I can't help but feel it would leave a bitter taste in the mouth. I do hope that won't be the case. By all means he has a tough job on but if our squad starts to become unsettled through approaches it would be most annoying considering the opportunity we gave him here. Come to think of it now, I still haven't even seen a thankyou to the club either!

Few more signing announced. Also looks like Simon Unwin is staying with Histon. Matty Allen has spent the last 3 weeks on trial at Southend United and Fallon is waiting to hear the outcome.
