Some good signs from the team today, shame about the result.
Goalkeeper looks like a good signing. Max York had issues last season and still needs work. The big lad alongside York in the first half could be exactly what we need, didn't catch his name. I thought the number 6 looked familiar, has he been with us before? Looked good on the ball, defensively he wasn't the quickest. The starting midfield 3 looked very good for the first half an hour and then seemed to tire. Wide players did well, just need a better delivery. Front two, brings me onto my next point. Subs, ok, right back seemed hit or miss.
For the past few seasons we just don't look like scoring. We don't look like creating much either. For the first 30 minutes we were much the better team, but couldn't/didn't create any real clear cut chances. Our midfield was on top, but never looked like scoring. It was like that last season. The players have changed, but the problem hasn't been sorted.
Defensively, again, 3 poor goals beat us. Cambridge didn't have to work hard for the goals at all. All seemed poor to concede. Same as the above, exactly what kept happening last season.
Some good signs with us actually being I'd say dominant the first 30 minutes, but the same problems from last season were there and cost us.....again. Hopefully once the team is sorted and settled then things will be rectified. If they aren't, then the season will be another struggle, again.
Any chance Fallon could do something other than stand with his arms crossed, looking bored during the game. Doesn't look like he wants to be there. Doesn't say anything to the players really. My thoughts on him were posted last season, nothing has changed them from what i've seen so far.
