From histonfc.co.uk/news.php?id=199# Fallon Names New Captain Manager Steve Fallon has named Mathew Mitchel-King as the club's new captain for the new season a move which will see current captain Neil Andrews become the vice captain.
The manager spoke of his admiration of Mitchel-King who has developed into a leader. "Mathew has become one of best and most consistent performers of the last three years and has earned the respect of everyone at the club. His leadership on the pitch is exceptional so I see the move as just recognising what Mathew brings to our team.
"Neil Andrews will remain as Vice Captain and will hopefully force his way into the team on a regular basis but at this moment in time we need a clear leader who will, if fit, play every game and demand the best from his colleagues."
Mathew was captain of the team against Boston and against Cambridge City but will officially lead the team out against Chelmsford on Saturday as the officially appointed Captain.

I would probably agree with that, Neil has had it tough as late and it would be better for him just to concentrate on getting fit and come a consistent starter next season.

He needs to sort his attitude out really, I'm actually not happy with the appoinmant (sorry!). Could have been GG? JK? Perhaps it will help him mature as a leader? His talent is not in question, his mouth can land him in trouble at times. If he can channel his agression into fair play and lead with authority, like John Terry, then there is no reason why he cannot be a great player. You mention GG as a potential. He has the experience and I think he was captain at Stortford? I'm sure he would do a fine job, however I think Mat is a bit more vocal. GG, in my opinion, is our most consistent and under-rated player. Playing GG at left-back with his defending, attacking and set-pieces was a major reason why Histon finished so high last season. I hope he can stay injury free and continue his excellent form.

HA HA! Lets all bow at the feet of Mickell's superior football knowledge! Don't make me laugh, a yid claiming to know all about football. Funny...
