I thought we were unlucky today but its a hell of an improvement on 4-5. Midfield struggled to make its mark today but we will improve! Bring on Mansfield.

Nat was outstanding today and Danny looks to be a very good prospect now and I can see what Fal meant at the forum. We did struggle a bit in midfield but Danny could have had a couple which were well saved and Damien was unlucky to hit the bar. Overall, some room for improvement but we were told we were still a bit behind in our match fitness due to the extended break for players after such an excellent first season...it will come togther. A very, very good point!

1 point won not 2 points lost.
I thought Antonio looked a little out of it, put him right-wing and Jack centre-midfield.
Hope to see improvements.
I thought that there was no point doing long-throws, as Kingy wasn't getting them far. We would have been better off having someone that WASN'T a centre back doing short throw-ins, meaning we wouldn't be as exposed at the back.
Hope GG is O.K.
Saw Ada limping a little bit at the beginning of the match. Possible small knock?

Jack Midson will never be a Right winger in my eyes.
Antonio Murray Right wing, Patrick Ada Centre midfield:P

GG is a concern. Quality player but Erks did very well when he came on!

Totally agree with you Jasper. We were very fortunate to get a point yesterday and I would sympathize with those Torquay supporters that felt aggrieved over the result yesterday. In saying that, the tables turned as it was us in their position in the early stages of last season, with us conceding a late equalizer. But we are now forming a habit of performing against the big teams in this division and as long as we can withstand pressure like we did at points yesterday, we will be here this time next year. As for Damien, first outing in a competitive match and was thoroughly impressed. Very tenacious up top and made some brilliant runs with Danny. What I did think we were lacking though was that ability in midfield to take the game by the scruff of the neck and dictate play like Adie has done over the last couple of seasons. I mean JK and Neil are wonderfully adept at breaking down play and playing neat passes, but I feel that we do need someone who can run with the ball and pick balls out of no where (Jimpson maybe?). Apart from that, it was a good point. And it will be interesting to see how we fare against Mansfield, yet another former league club. Off the back of a brilliant comeback against Ebsfleet, they will be brimming with confidence and will be interesting to see how we get on. (Edit: Keep posted on the homepage for my Mansfield preview... )

Yeah, again, Midson is someone who can pick balls out of nowhere!

Based on what bobby, a couple of cameo appearances in that position and a dodgy game on Saturday?
He may have been able to cut it in that position as a reliable performer at CM with Stortford in the Connie South but I don't think so at this level.

Actually he has none at Histon I'm just saying try it out, give it a go. He can pass well, he has a good work-rate, and he can hold pu the ball. He is also quite tall, so John Beck would love him in CM for influence And Antonio did look lost, put him wide right, plays best there by far. Don't know if you were at the match Jamie, but he was hardly involved at all and lost the ball about 25 yards from our goal giving them a real chance

Sorry I'm confused? Yeah I was at the game yesterday, coming straight back from holiday 5 minutes before kick-off! And yeah I totally agree with you, Muzza looked out of shapes in the middle of the park and he shouldn't really be deployed as a holding centre-mid. I don't remember even saying he did play well? I was just saying we need someone who can play in that position and Jimpson is a prime example of some one who can. With Midson, I do remember him playing a couple of times but can't remember in which games. It might work and it would be interesting to see if it did. But, I doubt it.

A good point for us, I guess they'll be gutted not to have won. I have to admit, I couldn't see us scoring in a million years when the goal came. Torquay looked the classier side and controlled the game at times without making many clear cut chances. I think we coped really well with their physical size and strength. We carved out as many chances as they did and deserved a goal.
I think Danny and Damien will be a formidable pair up front when they have a few games under their belts. Damien showed some great close control and was unlucky not to score when he hit the bar.
Roll on Mansfield, I think we can turn them over on Tuesday.
