From Histonfc.co.uk:
New Histon signing Lanre Oyebanjo had a week to remember after agreeing a contract with the Stutes the player this weekend received news that his trial match is Dublin last week has earned him a call up for the Republic of Ireland Under 19’s. The call up will see the player flying out to Ireland on the 17th of August for three fixtures in preparation of the Under 19’s European Championships. Lanre will be included in the Republic of Ireland squad for fixtures against Spain, Portugal and the Ukraine. The player is not expected to miss any Histon fixtures.
Manager Steve Fallon spoke of Lanre and his call up as a major boost for the exciting young full back, “Lanre has done very well in pre season so it's no surprise to me he has been called up at 18. He is a wonderful talent, who I have no doubt will have a brilliant future with us.”
Fallon confirmed at the Thursday night fans' forum that Lanre’s agent had done a good selling job on him which convinced him to watch the lad play in an early pre-season trial match at Barnet, which lead to the player coming to the Stutes for pre season. Fallon added "as I have said before, I am not a fan of agents in football, especially at this level, but Sean Blom has made me realise there are some decent agents out there who can look after players the right way and I would have no problem putting the record straight and saying Sean is someone our club can work with."
Lanre spoke to the Histon fans' forum on Thursday night, telling the Histon fans he would be working hard to break into the Histon starting eleven with his ambition for the season being to get a regular starting position and play well enough to earn the respect of his team mates and the fans
Interesting, obviously he is better than I thought he was as he didn't look too amazing against City. Good to know that we can boast a international amongst our ranks, even if he is only in the under 19 squad. Nice one Lanre, wish you the best of luck on your call-up!
