An indifferent display. Neil should have been on from the start,he made such a difference. We just do not seem to have,or want to use,our midfield at the moment. After 10 mins of just launching the ball into the box and watching it picked off (or up by the excellent keeper),we should have mixed it up. We have the hot potatoe syndrome again as no one wants to keep the ball. It gets boring and predictable. No one doubts the passion or the committment but we need to trust and let the players pass the ball around. Anyone who has watched us for any amount of time will know we do have some very good passers of the ball...so let them...PLEASE! We could also do with a young Adie from somewhere. A creative player who can stand his ground...not many about that we could afford at the moment though. We could have nicked a point from a very good last 20mins and were unlucky not to do so but this is a very, very good Mansfield side and it would have been unjust on the balance of play. They will be in the mix at the end of the season. I thought they looked better than Torquay by some margin! We will improve I have no doubt as we have a good side but anytime soon would be good! Forgot to mention that Lanre looked a very cultured player when he came on. He is going to be a great Stute!

Last line of text on Sky sports update was :
"Histon are in control, man of the match Jack Midson"
Did they mean for the last 20 mins?

He made one or two good moves but looks a little out of his depth at the moment...he is not the only one. However, that's two very hard games to start the season with. Hopefully it will improve soon. Confidence and more time on the ball is what is needed. Less hoofing it away up field!

i thought we lacked passion last night, there were challenges we could have gone into and let their guys run at us. I also agree with the calls for Neil Andrews to start on saturday, as he has the passion, and the midfield isnt playing with any battle and commitment, also when he comes on he seems to lift the team. We had many chances in the 2nd half, 1 or 2 which should have ended up in the back of the net. however when we didnt score these we were in danger to conceding to a counter attack. However its early days and we had only 1 point this time last year!!! also well done to all the fans who created a great atmosphere last evening, still hopefully we can get more people to get to away games!

It will all come together, a couple of tough teams to start our season but grabbed a point out of it. Perhaps on Saturday against York could be the start of our winning ways!

Hello everyone, I'm a Mansfield supporter and don't think that you lot were too bad at all and we were hanging on at the end, so hats off to you. Must admit that this has all been a major culture shock to us really as you may have noticed by the somewhat flat atmosphere last night. It was something of a, lets sit down, watch and see what happens. We had 9 players making their home debut, so the fans are getting used to who's who. But I think everyone was surprised by you; call it arrogance but I guess we half expected you to roll over and let us tickle your bellies and its something we've got to get out of or be in for a nasty shock.
Good luck for the season dm

You have a good side. You will be ok. We had an off night and can play a lot better than that.

Thanks for the friendly comments. This is a very hard league, but I am sure that you will do very well. This is a hard league to get out of, but play-offs are all but a certainty for you
