Ada facing shock exit as Stutes eye Farrell STEVE Fallon has decided to shake up his Histon squad early in the Blue Square Premier season by signing Ben Farrell on loan from Cambridge United while putting Patrick Ada on the transfer list.
The Stutes hope to get the Farrell paperwork completed today (Thursday, 14 August), so the former Bedford Town midfielder can go straight into the squad for the trip to York City after Histon and the U's agreed terms last night for a six-month loan deal.
However, Ada, who arrived at the Glass World Stadium from Exeter City at the beginning of last season, has been told his future lies elsewhere.
Histon boss Fallon said: "We have been a long time admirer of Ben. We enquired about him when he went to United from Bedford and we have stayed in touch with Cambridge about the lad.
"We now hope that we can complete the deal in time for the weekend." With Gareth Gwillim out injured for a month and Craig Pope announcing his shock decision to quit the club, the manager knows bringing in players has suddenly become a priority.
But he is still prepared to let Ada go after the two spoke last night when the Cameroonian defender voiced his concerns about losing his place in the heart of Histon's defence to Matt Langston .
Fallon added: "Patrick does not see his future at Histon at the moment and as such we are circulating his name to see if there is any interest in him.
Well what is going on, always thought he was quality. There what do I Know!

Personally I think he is better than Pope. Still, if he want regular first team football I just have one thing to say to him, please don't go to United or any of the teams that got promoted. How about Bishops?

Amazed by this - everytime I saw him play last season he was quality. Has the physical strength and pace that forwards don't want to play against.

i agree, it will be a loss if he does go, im sure there will be other teams coming for him now. i was suprised not to see him play in first 2 games. he was a great player for us last season. I would have liked to see him play in midfield, i think he could have done very well there.

He hasn't gone yet and still could change his mind! He might get a game on saturday or at least some off one now he has shown us his intentions! Why not try him midfield we seem to have nothing else to lose there at the minute and watching the game York vs Wrexham we are going to need a strong midfield!

i would like him to stay do not know what fal is doing fallon hasnt done anything wrong, you cant keep a player at a club who doesnt want to be there 1 you would still have to pay his wages when he's on the bench 2 it would be a set back for pats career if he doesnt play 1st team football

That's the thing, personally i think he should be playing first team football, whether its right back, centre back or centre midfield, he's got to be better than what we got.
I rekon he's just annoyed he isn't playing.

I rekon he's just annoyed he isn't playing. I'd hope that he is upset that he's not playing. However the way to get back into the team is by hardwork and showing your passion and determination in the training sessions. Nobody is guaranteed a place in the team. Just ask Jamie Barker, Matt Langston or Ada Cambridge. However their attitude has been good and they have become determined to get back into the team. I hope he gets back into the swing of it and stays at Histon. He's a very good player. But we have no room for prima donnas in the BSP. Let's leave the tantrums to the Premiership players.

Just as an aside where is Ada? He was not playing for the reserves on Tuesday either.

I think he has refused to play for the reserves, hence the chat with Fal ending with him on the transfer list. Patrick is far too good for Ridgeons League so quite understandable that he feels agrieved, however Fal is the boss. No player should be quarenteed a first team place so in view of our current situation a compromise would seem the best option, keep him on the bench, and give him 30-60 mins. There is always room for changes during a game. Then review the situation in a month say, or when the current situation is resolved, ie Popey & Gareth.

i think he would be a great midfielder!!, then muzza can play somewhere more comfortable, he doesnt look right there at the moment!, Ada gives 100% where ever he played last season, it will be a loss if he does go

I've always thought he could play in the centre of midfield as a holding player. He can tackle, his distribution is excellent and he can burst forward if the opportunity presents itself. Shame we never gave it a try. Maybe Pat isn't keen on playing there. Such a good player should be playing in the first team. And with GG injured and Popey gone we also really need cover at the back. I understand him not wanting to play for the reserves, but he needs to stay match fit and the club is paying him to play. So Pat, if you are reading this I really hope you stay and get a regular starting place. Just belt the ball out more instead of trying to play good football, and JB will be much happier
