Our ground is streets ahead of Stevenage's But you would say that. I disagree. Anyway, the worst thing about trips to your ground is that even after half the crowd had left, most people still couldn't see a thing... Yep - that's acknowledged and accepted. But you have to look at it from the perspective of a club who have travelled up the leagues from a very basic start point. When you look at it his way, the stadium is pretty bloody impressive... and will be constantly improved. Rome wasn't built in a day, neither was your club or stadium. You were small once - quite possibly not in your time - but you were. It's a shame that so many United fans have insisted they're "never returning". They don't seem to appreciate that their ex-league stadium is a lot bigger and the club is more experienced than most others in this league. Histon are constantly learning and constantly improving. While the stadium is not perfect, especially for the numbers needed for the Utd match, it is improving and is much better than last time around. I can't see why Cambridge Utd fans can't accept that as progress.

Thank you FTM.
If we had the money coming in that United had lost in the last 4-5 years, we would probably have a ground to rival the likes of Forest Green and Woking. As it is, I feel the ground is great considering until abut 3 years ago it was still just 250 seats

Our ground is streets ahead of Stevenage's But you would say that. I disagree. I say it as neutral as I can be, If a ground was made using the best bits from both clubs, Stevenage would have that terrace from beside the pitch and stand behind the goal, but it would be located in Cambridge. Meaning ours scrapes it. Of course, I accept where you've come from and so forth, but that doesn't mean it's not the worst ground I've visited with CUFC (Stafford gives it a good run for it's money). I do look forward to there being a stand added which actually improves things though, instead of just to tick boxes in the ground inspectors notepad. I can't see why Cambridge Utd fans can't accept that as progress A lot of people aren't returning because of the antics and attitude of Histon FC over the past year, especially when a lot of it has been to do with putting us in a bad light. A lot of United fans will accept you're making progress, but like I said before, it was a horrible horrible trip last year, both times, and there's not been enough improvements to assure people that it'll be any different this time around. I say that without malice.

I disagree with everything you've just said except the bit about the improvements. The seating is good, but there just haven't been enough improvements

The metal stands are too shallow to improve your view, though I guess with as many spare ones to choose from usually, it's not such an issue.

Well I have followed Sunderland for over 20 years. During that time I have visited many Premier League grounds, not to mention dozens of visits to The Stadium Of Light, plus much much smaller grounds for friendlies and cup matches. The Stadium of Light is massively superior to most other grounds in this country. You would not catch a Sunderland fan complaining anywhere near as much as you lot about another ground's facilities. It smacks of 'Big Brother' arrogance. Why should Utd fans expect every stadium in this league to hold several thousand? Histon's ground is certainly not the worst in this league by a long long way. I've visited several, but don't take my word for it. So many visiting fans have complimented the ground and the progress that the club has made off the field in terms of its stadium. Yet the Utd fans always seem to find something to moan about. Funny that. A Utd-supporting taxi driver once talked to me about Histon and the fact that the teams now had to meet in the same league. He called them "scum" and said that they were an embarrassment, rather than a threat. Not giving away my allegiances I kept prompting him. "But they beat you twice this season and hammered you the season before?" It was almost as if he didn't want Histon playing anywhere near Cambridge in the footballing pyramid. Insecurity? Not sure... but odd behaviour. You say that you look forward to there being a stand added. Yeah, sure... we'll just write out a cheque and it will appear overnight! A dose of reality is needed. We're in the same league. Utd dropped down and have the infrastructure and expectations of an ex-league club. Histon earned their way up and as such the club is playing catch-up.... but they're doing pretty well... even if you can't bring yourself to admit it.

You've read enough of my posts to know that I have no problem admitting that Histon are doing well. It's not so much about being a big brother or expecting the ground to hold thousands, it's about paying £12 (If my memory is correct) to get in and expecting to be able to have a decent view, not to be standing 5 deep on flat ground by the corner flag. If the away end can't handle the support it should either be made bigger or made all ticket, people are just frustrated they paid good money to stare at the back of someone's head (although, it was probably better than watching the match for a United fan )

Try a pair of Lord Henry Skipps elevated pumps for the shorter leg. Work a treat in the away end at Heliodeliphilodelphiboschromenos Rangers, (pass the spliff).

this place is going down hill, no wonder people get fed up posting at times, its always the same crap !!! anyway, on topic and 4 pages later!, i didnt agree with the sending off and agree the guy 'acted' to get a booking, it happens all the time, Nat got sent off the other week for 2 yellows, one there was nothing in the tackle, the guy 'acted injury scenes scene in a war film!' when he blocked the ball. Linesman and refs in this league at times are really poor in all games, but would you do it?.....i moan about it and shout at the linesman but i'm not sure i'd want to be in his shoes?
