Welcome back smudger. Was decent for us when we were having a torrid time in the conference. Still remember his debut goal at grays aswell as his stunning freekick when we salvaged a draw at kettering with 10 men. Also warm welcome to tom. I see he has experience at the level above with corby and this level with stamford including scoring two goals on the final day to help keep them up. Brian said he has been on his radar for two years now so he must have a lot to offer. Must say we really look to be shaping up well for this coming season. Just hope nick and libber re sign and we should be nearly set to go !!

NO news on Peter Clark, he's one we really need to keep hold of.

Yes, I agree, looks a good young talent.
I think there are a few lads we should try to keep hold of, Geoff, Eugene and Peter Clark I think are obvious, but I think we definitely need to add experience to the squad thereafter, I think the signing of Lee Smith is a real coup for the club, a really experienced player and one of the earliest I can remember as a Stutes supporter and one of very few decent players we had in our last season in the conference. That said, he is currently the only player over the age of 25 on our books so I think we need to solidify certain areas on the pitch, I think centre back in particular. Although I'm excited for the Key-Rumens partnership this season, I think another centre back is required so Miles and Max can actually play in their natural positions if there is an injury and I think Key and Rumens really profited from Wall's experience last year. I hope this could be Sal's year to really blossom, he started getting on the scoresheet in the second half of last season and despite not always being his biggest fan, I think there is quality with his pace and hopefully he'll gain the confidence he so desperately requires. Geoff would add more experience and definitely goals, something we have struggled with since Dan Holman so I really hope he decides to stay. I think a back up goalkeeper should be required on the bench in every game, so the likes of Sal don't be whacked between the sticks unexpectedly, so one must be signed. And if Nick signs on, we could be a real force this year.

NO news on Peter Clark, he's one we really need to keep hold of. Ah yes ur right! Would love for him to stay too. Looked very promising early on in the season. It was just unfortunate his season was blighted so much by injury. Do hope we can bag geoff or at least someone who can score regularly aswell. If nick ends up leaving then we have a lot of goals as well as a quality player to replace.

Brian has clearly been a busy man during the close season. Doesn't let the grass grow under his feet. Works out of season as well as in. Some just take a rest and wait for the left-overs. The signings give fans the feel good factor, no question. I understand that there is a real up-turn in sponsorship and commercial activity. And I firmly believe that this positivity will increase the support base. All in all, maybe a top ten team this season in the SLP.

Great to have Lee Smith back. He was a really good player and will add some experience to the squad. Great to see such a solid squad emerging. I just hope we can afford to pay for it.

Getting close to the new season. Lots of transfer activity & news, which is what fans just love. Think this season will enhance everything about the Club, and give the fans the identity of Cambridge's senior non league football team, with City's departure. Really looking forward to the start.
