Thought today the fact that Forest Green are a professional side really showed and that the lads will need to take a long hard look at themselves if they are going to progress this season. But as they say, early doors and anything can happen yet. But I would have thought Fallon and Becky won't be happy in the least with today's performance as we looked second best to almost anything FGR tried. First of all, stop playing long ball! People have wised up to it now and this was a prime example of it, with FGR content to sit back and pick anything up that was lumped up long to them. They actually believe it or not played football and got it down and played it around to great affect, and if it wasn't for some dodgy finishing in and around the box for them, it could have been more than one today. The introduction of Damo was a class one, but a little late for my liking. He showed why he should have been in the starting XI today but should have been on at half-time with both Danny and Muzza taken off who were clearly not fit despite what we were being told. We seriously need to change our game when up against teams like FGR, and the effectiveness of mixing it up was shown in parts when JK and Robbie came on, as they both mixed it up well in there. Wondering what anyone else thinks?

Agree with you 100% Smiffy. We were dire and too predictable. We were unimaginative and looked very poor against an excellent passing side. All credit to them but they knew what was coming everytime, as did the supporters. Too many performances like that will shave a few followers off the next gate! Trevor has done a great job with the pitch which looks a perfect playing surface...maybe we should start using it. It is allowable in the rules to play it out from the back and not bypass midfield. I went home as soon as the final whistle blew...almost went home with ten mins to go. That is not me and that was not the team I love. We can play it around if we want. Man of the match (very difficult) for me was Lanre. I hope we improve Tuesday as there is a super programme on radio three about the Georgian national walnut cracking finals. It's a tough choice at the moment (and I have already paid to get in).

Every single thrown in was easily picked out the air by the keeper and he launched it up field and they always seemed to get a player on the end of it, supprised it was only 1-0.

Yep, really think we were lucky to get away with losing 1-0 ! Would like to see JK alongside Neil in the middle on Tuesday. Capt Courageous will have to go back where he belongs in the back 4 ! Sorry Patrick you`ll have to keep fighting with Langers for that other place.
Never like seeing Nat playing that deep, think Danny and Damian are the best 2 upfront with Jack on the right. That would leave Muzza out this time.
Fully agree we need to keep it on the deck !

I agree with the comments here, Histon were rubbish. See the thing is there is no plan B, if a team come the Glassworld (like FGR) to play football on the deck we look relegation material and out of our depth.
FGR were first to every ball and made us look like what we are - a village team. Come on lads put the ball on the deck and pass and move, cos at the moment its dire.

I know every team has its 'off-games' but that was worse than 'off'! It was the first canterburystutes game of the season as well, which was disappointing! My man of the match was Ada. Some fantastic interceptions when needed. They moved the ball around very well in the first half, and pretty fast on the counter attack in the second. Probably the best team I have seen so far this season, not that we have played too many yet! I am sure it was just a one off, bad game though...

I also think this game highlights how we are so badly in need for a decent holding centre mid to dictate play.
Jimpson is crying out just over the A14 and would be a great acquisition. I know we may be short on funds, but we really do need to come up with something in midfield.

Forest Green were the best side I saw last season at their place. I think they will probably be best this season too. They were first to every 50/50 ball, and their passing was terrific. Patrick was the only one to come out of this game with any credit. It's no good signing a holding midfield player, as he wouldn't be allowed to hold it. Like everyone else he would be told to hoof it. You can't have passing football and John Beck, it's one or the other. I'd settle for a plan B.

Woeful is the only word i can say, was very disappointed today, couldn't string 2 passes together! Ok forest green are a good footballing side, but, if we're to get a play-off spot these are the games we HAVE to win. Also, long ball needs to stop immedietly, if long ball doesn't stop we're gunna find ourselves in a heck of a relegation battle, get the lads playing football..... look at FGR, one of the finest footballing sides in this league. Why can't we do that? we've got on of the best players technically in this league in Antonion Murray, still we hoof it up to him! Damian Reeves came on and scared the hell out of their defenders when he had the ball at his feet, which was once... there goalkeeper and defenders must of thought Christmas has come early! the keeper caught every corner, free-kick and long throw-in we took , when r we going to change this?? we could of stuck 4 people out the crowd to defend for FGR, that's how easy it was... I've made up my mind, i'm not going to Weymouth on saturday, i'm fed up of wasting money after money watch Sh*t football! Come on sort it out!

Wow, that's commitment, Tom.
Histon have been on the up year after year for about the last 7, and after a few dodgy results you buckle.
Have some loyalty.
