Hi all my name is Dave and i m 25 and i m currently trying to get into being a groundsman. i currently havent got a trainee job or a groundsman job as yet but am looking at contacting local clubs to see if they have any jobs available on a trainee basis or to let me work as a volunteer to gain some experience and to learn from current groundsmen.
i was wondering if anyone knows if histon have their own or are they volunteers??? also to know how to contact the club as i ve tried ringing and emailing but to no avail and was wondering if there is anyone on here that could help me out at all??
many thanks and thanks for your time

many thanks for the replies and i will be popping down to have a word with Trevor.
its the best way to learn more and get a couple of references along the way so it maybe voluntry work but in the long run it will benefit me to just in different ways.
many thanks and good luck with the season

Do us a favour mate. Stick with Histon! Seriousely though, the difference to the ground in the last 8 years has been fantastic, from losing about 8 games a season due to rain, we don't lose any. He's a pro!

As long as you get experience I suppose it is a win win situation. See if you can talk to admin, he may know or be able to find out what the times are.
