Anyone thinking on going via the club coach? I myself am currently getting money together and booking my place on Saturday. I was just thinking, is there any point if its going to be like Eastbourne when no-one goes on it? Fair do's people have lifes outside of Histon F.C. week in week out. And it can get expensive going every week (especially during this current financial climate). But surely you can spend around £26 (including travel and ticket) to watch your local team? I know for sure that a few people will want to come on this trip and it should be a good day out so people get booking!

The sad part is that there were a few people who wanted to go but in the end couldn't because there was no coach.
I think that with Eastbourne, people left the decision as to whether to go until the last minute and simply no away travel club can run like that as the coach has got to be booked and the club, whilst not aiming for a profit must at least break even.
The away following has increased over the last few years but there is still along way to go. A coach to most away games was the target for this year and we are already falling short...so come on guys make sure you support the coach to Woking and book with Andy this Saturday.
An Eastbourne fan commented on how many Utd brought to their place...there were signs all over too with bits of Yellow pages still everywhere...shame they are not asked to tidy up or get charged for clearing up their mess!

To be honest i can see why people are getting put off by going to Woking, £15 is a lot of money for a trip only 1 hour 30 mins away. But if we could get a 50 seater, then surely it should only be like £8-£10 each???

Tom, we struggle to fill a 30 seater so there is no point in dreaming about a 50 seater...except perhaps for the odd match! Anyway, Woking is actually around 1 hour 50 and more to the point about 90-95 miles each way. Do you drive and thus pay for petrol? In my car the journey to Woking and back will cost £40 - £50 just for petrol, without wear and tear. If I take 3 people and charge them £15 each, I get the petrol covered but I have to drive so cant drink before the game, take care of any additional costs and the passengers have paid the same as those on a coach. Personally I think that £15 is not bad.

I no we won't take a 50 seater, but i'm just saying if we did. Our away travel prices seem to be more expensive then other teams, i've looked in other teams programmes and it's much cheaper. Maybe that's because they have better away following i don't know....?

Our away travel prices aren't set by me or Jenny we spend no end of time phoning around and e-mailing coach companies to try and get the best prices for everyone. Yes i completely agree our coaches aren't always cost effective for certain trips but we do have a number of teenagers and people who don't want to drive that want to use the away travel for ease. We had 1 blip last season with the Salisbury trip and i can't apoligise enough for what happened on that trip. But i've learnt from my mistakes on that trip and believe things have improved since then! If we did take a 49 seater away every game i'm sure we could then sort out a deal with a coach company and get cheaper prices but as we have found out in recent weeks we struggle to fill a 29 seater as people would prefer to travel on their own! The most important thing to remember is that anyone that wants to go to away games should be able to get there, as fans are important to the club and players!!

It was a freak accident the Salisbury trip and it was no fault of Andy's or Alex's, just a mix up with the post codes.
Yeah I was a bit peeved at the time but it was sorted out in the end and I got money off of the Kiddie coach so I wasn't that fussed. I just would have thought that with the success of the other coaches last year people would want to come again this year?
Obviously not week in week out, but to places which are nice like Eastbourne and things like that. I myself can't get to away games unless a coach goes because the train is ridiculously expensive and catching a ride with someone is out of the question due to my parents.
Am looking forward to Woking though! ;D

Last chance to get your name down for the coach to woking is by Midday tomorrow!! I will be behind the goal during the game if you'd like to put your name on the list or around the turnstiles before the game from 7pm onwards.

Can we get away travel details announced over the PA before games and at half time? I didn't hear a single mention of away travel provision at the Lewes game, or any other home game for that matter. Are there away travel details in the matchday program?

We have announced away travel details couple of times before the problem is at the minute the PA isn't the best in the world and you can barely hear unless your around the main stand. I'm sure there has been details in the supporters club section and also away travel section of the programme. But if you need any other details feel free to contact me anytime.

I usually put bits of information about away travel in my match previews. I put a bit in this weeks one. Hope this helps?

Mark E and all the others out there ..... there is a Bold Type section in my Supporters Page so there is no excuse for not knowing when and where the coaches are travelling. Also - have you seen the Away Travel on this section? I say no more!

Sorry Jenny, I don't buy a programme so I was just asking.
I have seen the away travel section and I am aware of the travel arrangements. I was just concerned there might be people who don't use a computer who are less well informed.

I dont think he is trying to complain or anything i think hes more interested in advising you, call it constructive criticism.
Some people dont use the computer and some people dont buy the programme, but that doesnt mean they dont want to travel to away games.
