Made me laugh, apparently 300+ fans are going to stand at the top of the bridge instead so they dont have to give our club anymore money. All that will happen is 300 other Cambridge fans will pay to get in and they will get moved on and miss there beloved cambridge playing.

Fantastic! How stupid are they going to look stood there? Almost as funny as the Newcastle plans planning to "boycoutt" their club. Wouldn't we all love to have a stadium as perfect as the Trade Recuitment?

I'm sure many that are saying it won't go through with it. Many are too proud to let their reputation slip.

It's their snobbery that makes me laugh. They still think they're a league club and every other stadium in this division is inferior to theirs.
They have trouble coming to the terms with the fact that Histon have been so successful over the years and have stormed up the leagues, while United have crashed down the leagues. Now we've met in the middle some of the United fans become defensive and, as we see in some of the posts on our own forum, try to put Histon down at every opportunity.
Histon have been playing catch-up with their off-field facilities and processes due to the storming success of the team on the field. There have been massive improvements to the ground since United last visited. If they can't swallow their pride and come to see for themselves then more fool them for missing the match.
If they go ahead with their little protest then they'd become a laughing stock, which would be a shame as I think the Utd fans generally have a good reputation in non-league football.

I respect that Will.
I dont see why nobody else will go, the people who will least benefit are the Cambridge players.

I respect you Will for that. For those who will choose not to go to the game well, your pathetic. Grow up, I can name many that now stand on the terraces at Histon who gave money to you in your hour of need. I myself remember putting money in the buckets to help "save the abbey" or what ever the scheme was and to do what you are planning to do is simply unacceptable. It may be the minority if it is only 300 but it is extremely disappointing.

Continually wrong, and the whole 'think they're a league club' rhetoric is wearing a little a thin. Maybe considering the other factors might give a truer reason why so many people are considering boycotting the match would be more appropriate? Cover ups of a racist player, the continuing smearing of our club for Histon's benefit, threatening to sue one of our fans and the fact that last year was the worst away trip most (both regular and the not so regular travellers) United fans would have ever had to endure, paying £13 to stand 5/6 deep all the way around the away end with no view of the game at all.

What is wearing thin is your perpetual whinging on this board. Just for the record, 1. There was no cover up mainly because there was no evidence. 2. "Smearing of your club"?.....please...put away your hankie....the smearing on your messageboard far outways anything you hear from histon. 3. Legal action against one of your fans.........I doubt it. 4. As for the worst away trip and a poor view.....what do you expect? We have shot through the pyramid system in the last few years, we are hardly likely to have beautiful multi-tired stands around the ground are we? It doesn't work that way. You have had your ground for decades and it still looks like it has been bombed by Zeppelins! For an ex-league team the away facilities are victorian by any standards. I think perhaps the most galling thing and the root of your distress at your visit last year was the fact you lost. Enough said.

He was guilty, and yet it was covered up, not only using 'helpful media contacts' but also that nonsense about retiring. 2. Nope, it was just coincidence that everything that goes wrong at Histon is Cambridge United's fault... 3. ''he club intends to use all legal support at its disposal to deal with the matter and if required will not hesitate to take action against the individual'' 4. Our away facilities are fine. The fact Histon's away end couldn't cope with demand should have meant far less tickets should have been sold, not to have had people crammed in endlessly. I'm sure a lot of people would have thanked HFC if they were able to see anything. If I judged a ground on the results we've had there, I'd have a bad view of pretty much every ground I've visited, including Wembley! Somehow, that doesn't come into it. Personally, I don't think there will be much of a boycott, especially nothing along the lines of what's being talked about now 3 months before the match.

Plus the stand we have in the away end has trebled in size since we played them. The stand in the middle was there and now their are two either side.
