A very good result today and important too! I thought the lads were excellent today and that was easily the best defensive performance I have seen in the league so far this season. Despite Salisbury hitting the bar and missing an absolute sitter in the first half I thought we coped with the pressure pretty well and that was the first clean-sheet I've seen in a long while at Bridge Road. I thought though that again Damo was pretty poor and he seems to be struggling of late. Maybe he'll prove me wrong and score a couple on Monday? I hope so. But I can't see it and it's good timing that Danny is coming back form his injury. Pope and Barker were class today and justified their starting positions with very good performances. Barker worked tirelessly on the wing and Nat will have a job on his hands if he's going to win his place back. And Pope was back to his sturdy best, which allowed Lanre to bomb on forward and scare the hell out of their defenders and he delivered some great balls in. Good result and good to see that we are now bouncing back form tough away games!

Althought we got a clean sheet, i believe our defending was poor at times, they had no end of chances in the first half of the game. Happy we've got a clean sheet, but still a little bit to work on at the back... GR8 RESULT THOUGH KEEP IT UP

Disagree with you there.
We did let a few past admittedly but it was a vast improvement from other games and as far as I saw (which was from a better position) Kingy and Langers were winning almost everything that was thrown at them from set-pieces.

I think the wind was clearly a factor today and made it difficult defending in the first half. On a number of occasions Salisbury cut through well, but in the box we were solid which is reassuring. With the wind second half, we took advantage very well and both set pieces for the goals were superbly executed. We looked dangerous in attack which has been missing recently and bodes well for the future. No more bottom of the table teams please....we just can't handle them!

I thought Jimpson had a brilliant game today and linked play well in bits. But he does have the annoying habit of drifting in and out of games which could have cost us, but when he does turn it on he can be lethal.
I think it was a good bit of business bringing him to the club and Gareth did well digging in his pockets for the money, hopefully Josh can start to repay some of the fee with more peformances like today!
Was disappointed he couldn't get a second though, straight at the keeper but I would have thought he will be pleased with his first. A lovely glancing header from a difficult position, good way to get off of the mark!

not the greatest performance, but im s]pleased[/s] very pleased[with the win. ok at the back today, wind didnt help, lanre very good at times when going forward, could say the same for popey. didnt quite look themselves in midfield in the 1st half, too many longballs not going to desired places, however far better in the 2nd, running through heir defence on many occasions posing a threat. damien again looked poor though, offside far to often and not taking his chances. Still think we need the battle in midfield, and i would love to see neil in the team 'busting a gut' and showing the desire to win which we havent quite shown yet. still looking good, not quite firing on all cylinders but hey, were 5th! would be nice to see a few of us go on monday. On that note... can anyone give us a lift 2 ebbsfleet? please pm me!

would be nice to see a few of us go on monday. Thing is not everyone can afford to go every week, including me! My paper-rounds have been cut due to the credit crunch and I know I'm not really suffering from effects of it really, two games in two days with the GCSE mocks coming up soon means that I can't go to that many away games this year. Also we pay £13 for Setanta every month and it's a waste of money if I'm just going to go to the games anyway, hence why I'm not going on Monday. Just thought I'd throw that in there for you Josh.

Thought that we did very well, good upfront and solid at the back when we needed to be. Agree though that Damo didn't look his best and seemed a bit out of it. That said however, the team performance was quality, and we have alot of young talent in the squad. Our starting eleven's average age yesterday was only about 25. and the only reason that's so high was because the back 4 and Naisbitt put it up!
Great to watch, no hoof ball, and a solid result. (IF) we play like that every week then we will certainly rach the play-offs. Come on, let's have a win at Ebbsfleet, and then we'll go second!
Thought that Josh was great, and he definately seems a good signing. He seems like another Adie, except 10 years younger. Will be interesting to see him as he develops even more in the coming months. Overall, top performance against a top side

yeah i can agree with most, game was ok, wind was a factor for both teams, Damo had a bad game. I didnt see much of Barker, he seemed to do more off the ball?, i thought he was quiet except for the freekick he won for the goal, but i guess he worked hard at other times??
Kingy is much better in defence than midfield, sorry i still dont think he id good there, he is better in defence as he really only needs to go forward for the ball, midfield is a different type of game, so to me he was outstanding at the back!

Great result and a better crowd. Near the 1000 mark (961). Lets hope results like this will keep people coming back.
