cheers for the message josh. I will pass it on to the hound. I saw he was up early this morning doing laps of the village, so he is fighting fit! The weather isn't looking too good at the mo, but it is the same for everyone, so hopefully it won't be too mch of a hindrance. Thanks again to everyone for all your words of support/mockery/disbelief yesterday, they all meant a lot. I have heard that the race is being shown live on Sky Sports News from 1pm, so if you fancy watching it from your nice dry, warm front room then please do. p.s. any rumours going around about attacks on, or being attacked by other mascots are just rumours...

the hound produced a great sprint to finish ahead of cambridge city and a lowly moose to take 10th place in the mascot grand national. the hound was bringing up the rear, but just as usain bolt eased in the last 20m ahead of city's lily the panda the hound commented on his day, 'a great race for everone watching but the competitors. im absolutley shattered, the going was soft, which didnt help with the track being sodden, however you have to battle throuigh the elements. had a great bit of banter with th other mascots, and look forward tom challenging wacky macky in 2009!' the winner of the race was (somewhat controversially) wacky macky of saffron walden fc

The Histon Hound was delighted with his 10th place finish today! After an awful start, he managed to barge his way into an open track and out sprint many other mascots. A bit of gamesmanship from Sheffield United and Bradford City caused a bit of a problem towards the end, but our Hound was able to avoid it! A great day out, with loads of banter with mascots of all shapes and sizes from all over the country. Let's hope for a better start next season, and you never know what may happen!
