Confirmed on our official website earlier today: www.cambridge-united.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10423~1427475,00.html The game is not all ticket and you've been allocated 1,100 tickets in the South Habbin. Would love to think come then it'll still be a top-of-the-table clash and we can see a sell out for both "legs" of the double-header. Cheers, Will

Doesn't mention about seating arrangements for away fans come to think of it - I guess it'll be the same as last year when the few people who wanted to sit went in the South Stand. With you having a better season would like to think you'll take all of those 1,100 odd on offer!

I'd like to think that aswell. But our attendances at the moment prove that untrue.
Let's do all we can to sell all those tickets.

It's actually a better part of the ground to generate a bit of atmopshere - you're a lot closer to the roof and of course the home fans in the North Habbin. You say about your attendances but don't forget you're a Village team and to get over 1,000 (last game) is pretty remarkable, when almost all of them are actually from Histon and Impington.
Not actually sure if the away tickets for Boxing Day are on sale or not from Histon yet - guessing they'll be (quite rightly) concentrating on the New Year day game which is, after all, all ticket.

If there was a possiblity of us selling all 1,100 then surely it will be made all ticket for logical reasoning?

For New Years Day game, clubsite says '....Tickets are at the usual prices.....'
Does this include the usual Junior Stutes arrangement of £1 and can I advance buy at this price?.

As it's a standard league game and one of the benifits to Junior Stutes membership is £1 entry to all league games - then pretty safe to assume you'll be able to advance buy your ticket for £1. I know at United all Junior U's get £2 entry into the South Stand for league matches and they're able to pre-purchace tickets for the game at those prices upon production of thier membersip card.
Incidently - I'm impressed this thread has been up a few hours and hasn't yet degenerated into a slanging match over how many fans you have got...!
Cheers,

Good point Mike...! I do hope some of the childish scwobbles can be put aside on both message boards in the lead up to the games - it should be a celebration of local football and a good advert for BOTH clubs to new supporters. It's likely over 10,000 will be in attendance over both of the games again so really do hope things don't get tainted by off-field events as with last years matches.

Being realistic, there were only 650 last year for the same fixture and Histon's gates have dropped. I can't see how that's going to nearly double it.
/ Slanging match.

I think Histon will be much higher up the table this Boxing day though - perhaps knowing a win against us would put them top of the league even, so that should encourage a much higher percentage of the home support to make the trip to the Abbey. If both clubs are in a similar league position come the game, I wouldn't be surprised if we break past the 8,000 attendance, including 1,000 or so away fans.
We shall see...let's just hope we've got enough car-parking spaces this time, ey!

do you buy your ticket at the gate for this game

The game isn't all ticket Sweep so you should be able to just get a ticket on the gate - last season certain parts of the home areas did sell out before the match, the Main Stand did as did the South Stand and the NRE wasn't far away either. The article on our website doesn't make it clear if away tickets have been sent to Histon or not for sale - I'll find out for you tomorrow and let you know anyway.
So it's not an all ticket match, but there are tickets on sale for the game...a little confusing but it worked very well last year from a logistical point of view, having learned from the mistake of the Weymouth FA Cup game when kick off had to be delayed by 20 minutes due to crowd congestion...with a gate of just 4,500!
