Good luck to the U18s tomorrow, who start their league campaign.
Let's see if they can go 100% in the league again.

The one our reserves used to be in? It's not a complaint, but if we want good youth development we want the lads to be playing in a competitive league. If we win every game then that's great but if they're not having to work for it in games then development is going to be slower. It's just a shame the reserves had to be disbanded

bobby it was a good run out for the boys and yes they were pretty poor !! but it was funny when they defenders were man marking our striker and at one point he had four defenders around him and still scored 2 in 45 mins and they were moaning that they could not cope with him or our wingers this must be a compliment to they and brians hard work in pre season training well done too all the players from the keepers defenders midfield and strikers in both age groups!! not a fan of this roll on roll of subs though !!!! and im sure the games will get harder !! next game monday night at home 7.45 ko against thetford town fc

Oh of course, I think this is a fantastic testament to all the hard work from Brian and the natural talent of the youngsters... but if you look at the opposition we're facing... well I'd expect our youth players to beat the first-team players from these clubs! I think if we see another season of no challenge we should look to see if alternative leagues are available to really get the best out of these lads and enhance their growth
EDIT: Unless promotion is possible? At which point we'll just have to wait until we hit a more challenging level in a couple of year's time

i agree with u bobby the older boys will get a better test in the youth alliance this season but adult footie might be the way to go for the older boys !!!

With a link with C.U.P and a manager of 10 years currently at Soham you would have thought loan opportunities would be a decent option for a short term solution? I'm sure both Steve and C.U.P would welcome a couple of players to bolster their lines? Plus as they're part time you can have our lads train together when the club's they're loaned to aren't training and then train with their clubs... so no detriment to their development? Or am I again being an idealist?

Why did Histon Reserves quit the Ridgeons League ? It seemed a perfect standard for quality teenagers to play in . Was it because of costs or some other reason ?.
