Hi all
Just a quick thank you to the folk that attended the HIST AGM last night, I hope that everyone heard about the good work that the trust have been doing and the up coming activities for 2014-15. Notably the sponsorship of the under 18's squad and Brian amongst others. Needless to say, we at HIST will continue to work with the football club toward a sustainable and stable club for future generations of fans to enjoy.
The fans forum was also well attended with plenty of probing and interesting questions to the board & Brian Page, though perhaps the discussion could have been a little more concise than it was. Probably nerves but the mash up of vocabulary was interesting to say the least! The club and the board have a better grasp of the finances (hope I don't eat these words in January) have a business plan and a vision of sorts. So in principle the work now is to increase commercial activities and swell the gate numbers by various means. As a result putting the club on a much firmer financial footing.
Moving on, it is clear that Brian is a very passionate man & manager who has Histon FC at his heart and for that there should be no doubt. The style of play and the team is definitely a work in progress and that the young players are struggling to acclimatise to the rigours of football at this level. Not withstanding the budget constraints being applied to Brian from the board. Very understandable in the current climate.
So to cut a very long story short and apart from the grumblings and mutterings from a prominent ex-board member at the back of the room, there is hope that the club will move toward stability and growth. Though this may depends upon Brain and the team getting it right on the pitch? So let support them and buckle up for another roller-coaster ride season at HFC.
