Christ, this forum is about as lively as City's!!!!!
Today...... Sorry but this was as bad as I've seen the Stutes play in the 4 home games I've watched this season.
Cray, I thought, were a pretty decent outfit, considering they were a step below Histon & City. Fully deserved their win. And sorry too - their second goal was NOT offside (IMO), despite the strong protestations from Brian and Lance. They really did themselves no favours with their animated protests to the Lino. On the day, I thought Histon's General ineptitude made Cray look better than maybe they are in reality. Though, as I said, I thought they played some good stuff, and were as good a side as I've seen at Bridge Road over the last two seasons. That really puts into perspective the generally poor standard of the SLP(IMO). It's not all about ability and tactics. As shown today, once a team gets an early goal, confidence becomes the overriding issue, and the suffering side has a mountain to climb, but if I was a Stutes fan, I'd still have every confidence in Brian to keep them in this Division, though it will be mighty difficult. Can't see anyone else managing it on the budget he has. If anyone should complain week in, week out about the budget it is Brian Page. But he doesn't keep on about it, to his credit.
