Anyone go today ? If I hadn't got man flu I'd have gone. Only 20 miles from my door. Only goal 20 minutes from time away to team at the top. Sounds like a good performance. 600 +attendance. Swelled by lots of happy Jock's, no doubt, before returning home from the NYE festivities!!! Wanted to see Corby's new Ground too.

I made the trek after much persuasion. Corby deserved to win. We didn't really create many shooting chances. Corby lucky to escape with not having a player sent off for last man in the first half. Denzel Gerrar was excellent. Defensively we looked ok, but near their goal we weren't good. Was an alright ground for this level, think the Council helped pay for it. Chatting to some of their fans, they reckon they may go up. Got some experienced players in from higher level.

Gotta say I thought Corby looked distinctly average if I'm honest. Had we had nick and Rogan on the field then you never know? But I guess Brian is trying to save some legs for our must win game at Frome!
We started off well enough and got into some good positions but we weren't clinical enough. Not wanting to get on anyone's back but Kuzminski really was a non entity upfront today. I feel he could have even been playing injured? as he didn't seem to be running to well and more often than not he was struggling to get into position. However I thought we battled well in midfield with Clark and Libber. Mccoy did well down the flank. The defence also did alright today although the post and Gerrar saved us a few times, including a fantastic penalty save close to half time, which sparked a "Is there a fire drill, is there a fire drill?" aimed at the home fans who were trudging away to the bar after failing to go 1-0.
Second half we never got going unfortunately and I guess it was only a matter of time before we conceded despite Corby being particularly wasteful. Although we could have easily had a goal of our own had Sal choose to square the ball to the onrushing Mccoy and Kuzminski I think it was.
Ohwell this Saturday is crucial so lets hope resting Rogan and Freeman works! As long as we keep beating the teams in and around us we should be fine !

I thought the lads put in the typical battling performance as we've come to expect, as Brian wouldn't settle to anything less! To be fair without Denzel it could have been three or 4, he was that good. We had a few promising moments, shame Sal never seems to notice the runs people make for him, needs to think of the team and not himself. These opportunities came when the ball was on the floor which wasn't very often. Disappointed at how many times we needlessly gave the ball away, do the defenders know we have a midfield or is the long punt up field towards monstrous centre halves our only tactic? We have to defend for long periods as the ball comes straight back at us. Surely we could look after it a bit better - after all they can't score if we've got it. Didn't think we missed Rogan that much as Eugene can do what he does without giving away as many free kicks and has better quality on the ball. We did miss Nick though as he is a real threat to the opposition defenders who had a pretty easy afternoon. Unfortunately Kuzminski can't hold the ball up or link play and generally looks out of his depth. Just hope we don't take Frome lightly tomorrow and can come back with 3pts!
