Interesting to read about Geoff Mitchell, now playing for Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship. Played yesterday against Glasgow Rangers. Scored 7 goals in pre season friendlies as a trialist and was subsequently offered terms. Well done. He certainly looked to have something different when at the GWS last season. Something to do with his 6'5" frame, perhaps!

Watched the game live on BT Sport. Geoff did ok and looked a threat in the air. He had a good chance with a far post header which went wide and looked a lot fitter than last season. The commentators spoke well of him and it's a big step up playing Rangers instead of the likes of Banbury Bideford etc. Interesting that the Rangers game was played on an artificial surface and Alloa have had this pitch since 2007 . I did hear that Histon have plans for an artificial pitch but I don't know if that is fact or not. It would solve the problem of too many matches spoiling the playing surface .

I see Geoff has left Alloa by mutual consent. I wonder if we can get the lad back.........

I see Geoff has left Alloa by mutual consent. I wonder if we can get the lad back......... After more research, it seems he has subsequently signed for and departed Dunstable Town. He was released following a red card and poor behavior in their FA cup tie last week!

Last thing required at the moment is a disruptive element in the team some matches are hard enough with 11 on the pitch
