Well, that was a point, hard earned, and deserved, I think.
After the Slough debacle, a point is very welcome.
Chippenham, I thought, were a decent side, well balanced, with a good mixture of youth and experience. Back four wanting to play the ball, but with no hesitation to dispose of it any which way, when necessary.
I was impressed with their management in the dug-out. Good natured, with no audible unpleasantries, and a clear mantra to encourage football as it should be played.
I liked them. Good luck to them for the season. Wish the Stutes had Lee Phillips!
However, I reckon they'll be disappointed with their afternoon's work. They have obviously been playing well so far to be top of the pile. I reckon they are definitely play-off material.
The Stutes, in comparison, will be grateful for a positive result. And they deserved it.
The back 4, in general, looked strong and decisive(mostly).
The middle of the park was evenly contested, and once again, Sam Ives up front chased & chased every cause.
Bit disappointed in Ryan. Not sure if he was carrying a knock, but he didn't look his usual self. Young Fulcher looked good when he came on.
This is a League that is stronger, IMO, than last season. Though there will be the inevitable rabbits that emerge as time progresses. Histon will be well apart from those few, I believe.
Very disappointing attendance. Lovely day. Cricket next door!!
The all round effort has to be applauded today.
Plenty of room for improvement, but well done today, I say.
