2 good, 2 bad, as it were!!! Or one good, one bad, as it seems to be!!! So, what do us fans think is needed? Well, tbh, not a lot, in my opinion. I went to St Neots on Saturday and was NOT impressed. From that performance against Worthing, there is not much between the alleged title contenders and the Stutes. The outstanding difference is the lad Tom Meechan, up front. And we all know how we need someone up front with Sam Ives. Meechan is a live wire and a danger all the time. He will, definitely, IMO, play Conf National at minimum. Well, we're unlikely to get him, so I reckon we need a bit of an older head to hold the ball up down the middle, and bring others into it. Watching the Hitchin game, I thought that when they brought the experienced Simon Martin on, he looked, to me, to be the type of player Brian needs. Short time basis obviously, but a short time is all it needs. He would be available, I believe. Might be worth a try, Brian.

Clive, I agree with you that we are nearly there and it does not help have two experienced players in Rogan and Smith injured because its often about small margins even at this level. Although in some games we have conceded soft goals which have been our undoing I believe we have always created a number of decent chances which is encouraging but chances are only good if you are consistent in putting them away, which is the holy grail of every football team.
I believe that our players should have huge potential to develop during the coming weeks, so I guess the challenge for them is to actually show that they are learning and gaining experience. It would be nice to bring someone in to help guide them on the pitch but I suspect that's a limited option.
It would be interesting to know where others think we may end up in the league, either points or position
Looking forward to the next home game

So ewstute, get yourself back . Keep the faith. After Aveley I felt the same, but fans must support the team.

I'll support and follow the team, but whilst they continue with the long ball garbage which we all know clearly doesn't suit the team and is horrid to watch, I'll be following from afar.
As to what the team need; an experienced centre back who has been there and done it and can organise and lead the team from the back is surely a must. Obviously, a goal scorer is needed as well.

You are exactly right. We need a goalscorer/centre forward, and an experienced centre back. But that requires significant cash which I imagine we don't have.

And if people don't come to watch the team we will never have the money required...

Then have the team stop smashing the ball forward and blaming the ref for losing and people might actually enjoy watching the games.

What is needed? What is needed is to play more like we did tonight, when we kept the ball and passed it we ran them ragged well done lads

Some great football played on the superb GW surface by Histon. Still need a big centre half but you can't argue with the passing game played at pace when Histon went forward. After conceding a sloppy equaliser the team showed great character to go on to win against competent opponents. Ewstute you should give them another chance .

Nobody has ever said the team couldn't play good football, people have been calling for more of it, but for whatever reason the team style has been to go route 1
