This was a desperately poor performance today. 3 positions were amazingly weak, and, i don't need to name those. It will have been obvious to everyone. Two of those three have had several first team outings and they really are not up to standard. Not by a long long way. No team, at whatever level, can afford to carry three players. The squad is not strong enough. We all know that the strongest starting eleven are a match, on their day, for any team in this league, but Brian really needs to strengthen. The midfield really has to be improved. Who remembers Ben Farrell? Where is he now? Couldn't we do with him in the middle? As has been said many a time, we are not far off being a good team. But it's not a good squad. Until it is, we will continue to perform badly when regulars are missing.

Certainly not the best we have played but still some decent football at times. Suppose the squad is what it is given the finances available? Are Rogan and Nick injured, is that why they were missing. I think we are in a better place than last year at this time and given that we missed two guilt edged chances in the second half could have still got something yesterday although Slough were probably worth the points.
Could be difficult if both the loan boys have to go back.

Have to agree with Clive. We were poor, especially in the first half. Too lightweight in midfield, we allowed them to get the ball into our box far too often resulting in lots of last ditch defending. Actually, our defending inside the box was pretty good again, but there is just too much of it. When we play to our strengths, as we seemed to do in the last quarter of the game, we'll cause any team problems. With more composure in front of goal we could have come away with a win. Despite not playing well for most of the game, we made more clear cut chances than Slough. So, it looks like our games will continue to be high scoring affairs......
