Welcome back Steve (Thought it more appropriate to start a new thread rather than to discuss Fal on the Brian Page one). Just the appointment to bring some of the lost fans back. And almost everything depends on a good fan base. It's a tough tough job, that's for sure. But i really can't think of a better choice. Just one thing, fans. Little digs at one another are not necessary. If ewstute, or anyone else for that matter, chooses not to attend some matches, that is his choice. Opinions should be accepted, however much others disagree. And casting an opinion should not be on condition of how often he or she attends. Please don't allow this forum to be ruled by a few who castigate and abuse others, like one in particular I can think of. It's one of the things I like about this football club, how everyone seems to get on well. The main reason I started supporting the Stutes 2 seasons back. COYS

Well Cliveh as your comment is a little dig at me I will say this. As mentioned in your comment we are all entitled to an opinion and I was stating mine. Bit hypocritical of you don't you think?

I really don't think Clive was directing his comments at anyone in particular , he is just wanting to keep things on here friendly for everyone. If Steve can keep us away from the bottom 4 and increase the crowds/income a little then I think that would be success enough for this season.

This is a forum for opinions, people are fully entitled to their opinions. We will agree with what some people say and disagree with others, that's football and life in general. I do agree with Clive though, no digs, let's not go there like other forums.
Let's just all focus on the new start and get ready for the first game tomorrow and the coming weeks. As always with the Stutes I am sure it's going to be a rollercoaster ride, hopefully with a lot more ups than downs.

Steve said on the radio could do with a couple of experienced players adding to it if possible. Centre back perhaps?? Matt Langston, Mat Mitchell King maybe? Haha.
Kennedy back up top?
In all seriousness, we do need an experienced centre half to organise the backline. An experience head up top or in the middle too perhaps?

I think there are a number of benefits to the appointment of Steve Fallon, He is a proven and respected coach who is known to everyone, also it could bring back more local support. My concern is that we must be realistic about our prospects for the rest of the season since it appears we have no money, and yes it would be nice to bring in a couple of experienced players but I am sure that would have already been done if it was possible. BUT we have got good young entertaining players and just like last year the minimum requirement is to win games against all teams in the bottom four and around us, although we are capable of beating some of the better teams in the league.

Bringing Steve back is a popular and good decision at this moment in time. I think his professional approach will add something and certainly give the fans hope. I'm not sure about bringing the fans back but maybe he could help bring sponsorship. Tough start against Hungerford today but a very winnable game Tuesday against Bedworth. Be nice to see 200 plus there to welcome the legend back .Good luck Steve.

Sorry histonfan01, not intended. As others have said, debate is great. We're all fans. Let's all stick together, but if there is a difference of opinion, keep everything friendly between us.

Not a problem Clive.
Did anybody go on Saturday as I can't seem to find a comprehensive match report. Losing 1-0 in the 94th minute is gutting as it looked like we fielded a strong squad. Hungerford are near the top so didn't expect too much but would be good to know if we deserved anything from the game.
I'm interested to see how many supporters attend tomorrow nights game and how the squad adapt to Fallon.

Lets hope we get a big turn out as this is one of those must win games. Could do with lots of noise behind the goal like last Tues.
