Well, well, well. What a great win!!!

Turned up with hope, but not much expectation to be honest. The first 15-20 was definitely Kettering's and we rode our luck a few times. Then it was like watching our defence from previous seasons (Sorry Brian Page, but it was that bad) and they gifted Nick a goal and then almost gifted Ryan another one. Nice, calm finish from Nick.

Second half was quite even and around the Kettering area our usual problems of creating chances came back. Not good defending for the Kettering goal, free header from 6 yards out. Ryan throwing a strop about being subbed was not a good thing to see, he had played ok but not having a great game. But what a great substitution from Fallon. Both subs come on and combine for the second goal and then both put in good performances. Tire out Kettering with Josh and Ryan and then unleash the speed. 3rd goal was good to see a ref actually let a player challenge for the ball with a keeper and not give a foul. Joe didn't foul him, the keeper just dropped the ball. The keeper was funny to watch, reminded me of playing kids football a good few decades ago when keepers didn't like the ball at their feet, he couldn't kick at all!!!

We did give away far too many free kicks close to our area though today.

The lad from West Ham who came on looks a great signing. He and Pat in midfield have been great signings, who was it saying we needed big, strong lads in there like Evan Key?!?!?!
The young lads played well again at full back and two goals for Allan who came on, took the first really well. Rogan again with a good performance, the stupid nonsense almost came out in the second half but he sorted himself out. 
Miles Smith was immense again and Danny Rumens also played really well again. they definitely have a good partnership together and with the two young lads at full back. Good to see Joe Carden stayed, did well today.

All in all, a great result and huge 3 points!! Defensively the team is definitely improving all the time.

What a good win, great day, decent crowd, nice to see the Hornets there, hope they all enjoyed themselves. Well done to all the whole team they gave it real go. With the two recent additions and the youngsters coming through the squad has grown in strength and confidence. Coaching staff have got us playing a solid game and we are more competitive, improving all the time. Looking forward to our remaining games.

Terrific day at the GW against an experienced Kettering side. Histon edged an entertaining game as they capitalised on poor defensive play by Kettering.Many fine performances by the young Stutes but Rogan Mcgeorge was the man who led the team brilliantly. MOM in my reckoning. The difference between the sides was Histon playing with a lot of energy and pride whilst Ketterings players went through the motions for long periods. No wonder their fans were upset by that performance. Great to see another young star, Matty Allan, from the U18s come through and score two late goals. The lads thoroughly deserved the standing ovation at the end. Well done to Fall , Dan and all the players.

Absolutely gutted I had to miss the game yesterday but it was a really pleasant surprise when checking the twitter mid-way through the second half. Kettering have a decent team, despite their back 4 and keeper being very average, and if it's the same keeper from the return fixture what a nice little comeuppance for him considering he was giving it the biggun after their 4-5 win. Can't comment on who's MOM but it sounds like everyone put in a good shift. Great to have the Westham loanee onboard and fantastic to see Matty got his first two senior goals. Still a long way to go yet but 3 unbeaten now and we still have 3 games against teams below as well as Chesham this coming Tues, all massive but winnable games, it's well and truly in our hands, lets keep the run going, COYS

Great battling display yesterday. To be honest, we really rode our luck at times, they were all over us in the first 25 minutes. Then they gifted us a goal and we started to believe. I thought we'd had it when Kettering equalized but we defended well and caught them on the break for a couple more goals. The third was a howler from their keeper who dropped a looping ball, but well finished by Matty. In fact, he took both goals really well. So, who's going to Chesham?
