Needless to say, especially after today's results, it's a must win. Hope everybody turns out to roar the lads on, we need a big effort from everybody now, they'll have a long journey to make next Sat but no doubt will still be up for it so we need to make it a horrible match for them (on the pitch I hasten to add) COYS !!!

Their win tonight takes them above us so we are now in the bottom 4.

www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Histon-boosted-contracted-players-opt-stay/story-28899388-detail/story.htmlFair play to all the contracted players who have stayed on to continue to fight for the cause. CEN don't always get it right as I'm sure most of you know, but if Ives really is back for tomorrow then what a time for him to come back, I have no doubt he'd be close to, if not beyond the 20 goal mark had he not been out for such a long time, will be a massive player for us from now until the end of the season. Win tomorrow and we'll still have a massive chance of survival! Hope for a big and noisy crowd tomorrow, COYS !!!

Well, the most important game of the season and we get that, rubbish.
That loss pretty much ends it for us. 4 points behind Frome effectively and they have games in hand.
People at the club and those who have left need a hard look at themselves.
Starting with Brian Page, he brought in these players who clearly haven't been good enough and brought in the crap style of football that basically caused us to lose games. Rumours in the bar earlier of extra payments to players too, wasting the budget.
The board, they work hard, but need sorting out asap.
Fallon has done OK, but has been stuck with the bad players and couldn't bring people in.
Under 21's, have done fantastic. Outplayed the players that were contracted and have done themselves proud. The club can produce excellent young players, but they come to the first team and it all goes wrong, that needs to be addressed.
Contracted players. Poor performances across the board bar a few, such as Smith, Nicholson, Freeman and Ives. Denzel hasn't been the same since Lance Key left. Augers last appearance v Kettering summed him up. Rumens, Key and Oyinsan not good enough. Smudge and McGowan did little. So overall, not good enough. Outplayed by kids.
Under 19's, doing excellent in their league. Matt Clements will be delighted.
Under 18's, awful. Whoever has taken them has really not done well enough. They almost won everything last season it appears.
Fallon needs to go in with guns blazing and get things sorted out. Don't be nice. Ship out the crap across the board, be it players or whatever and get things sorted. The decline of the first team has to stop. It's a joke.

Well today it was evident that both teams were threatened with relegation. Both sides were devoid of quality, just that frome had that 1/2 % more than us. Rogan was a huge miss and I dont know if we'd be talking about a loss right now had he been on the pitch. Thought ives did well in his return though, fair play to him, something like 12 weeks out and he probably had the highest work rate out of all of them which also says a lot. Frome looked like they wanted it more, those 3 defenders blocking the ball on the line summed it up. So fair play to them they deserved the win, although I must say they did a number over the ref today, their play acting and whining worked, ref may as well have been wearing blue.
Looks bleak now. Have to hope we go on a late run and cambridge city, st Neots and frome all fancy losing from now on and tbf its possible our neibours may still slip into it, need to up our game first tho!

Must admit it's not looking good. Having to rely on others to help us out is a major concern if we don't start picking up points ourselves. St Neots still have to play Frome twice, can they do a double? For once I hope so as it will use up some of their games in hand. With the finances at the club being a concern again it makes you think how we can attract some more experienced players. The young lads may be technically excellent at their level but playing against experienced old pros is a different game altogether. If we go down, God forbid, it won't be easy to get back up. If anything that level is even more physical with playing on poorer pitches - think St Ives 15 - 20 times a season!! I'm sorry but the immediate future is looking pretty bleak just now.

Cannot argue with your summary of the game hfc08stutes, Frome did create the better chances and could almost have been 2 up in the first few minutes, their final ball in to our box was better the ours. Wonder why Josh did not start in such an important game, he and the other lad that came on upped the tempo and quality of what we did. We certainly ran out of steam both mentally and physically towards the end. The frustrating thing is that we can play better than that but wanting and wishing is different than doing and Frome did. Still we can only press on.

Unavoidable absence from the last 2 home matches, which sadly have made us relegation favourites, unless something drastic happens between now and the end of the season. Dropping a division will be devastating, but not the end of the world! That is, if there is a will and determination to get back up at the first attempt. By everyone. Bigger clubs than Histon have dipped to that level and returned stronger. I feel that this could certainly be the case with Histon FC. The Club will always be blessed with a superb stadium and facilities. That alone will be a reason for decent players to be attracted to the GW. An iconic Manager too, plus a good back room staff will create a stability about the place. Winning matches regularly in a lower division will increase attendances, especially with City disappearing further away from Cambridge to Sawston, St Neots, or remaining at the St Ives Marina. So, IMO, all is not lost. I expect the Stutes to go down now. Hope not, but realistically, likely. Up the Stutes.

Regarding the story in the Cambridge News about contracted players agreeing to stay at the Glassworld, the only reason I can see why a player under contract could simply walk away is that the club have not been paying them in accordance with the terms of their contract. I knew things were bad, but we seem to be further away than ever in getting the Club on anything resembling a sound financial footing.
