Wow! what happened at home today? I can usually always find something positive to say about us but really struggling to find anything to tease out from the performance today. We started quite well but mistakes cost us the first three goals against what I thought was an average Farnborough side. Some of our basics like marking, passing, pressing etc.. were all way below par, and even when we were being given the run around in the second half it took us a long time to make any subs, at 3 or 4 nil surely we could have tried something new. Can someone help me out who was also there because perhaps it was just me. Also got the feeling for the first time in many seasons that some of our hearts and minds were not focused on the job in hand. Can only dig in now cos there is nothing else, we can play much better as we showed last week so lets keep at it.

Today, wow. It was not good.
Same old issues we've all mentioned and they've clearly not been addressed. They've gotten worse if anything.
Not much else to say,

Firstly I was told that both Steve and Matty are on Holiday!? Now don't get me wrong, I know that we aren't at the highest level anymore and that they both have lives outside of the club but if you're going to get involved in semi-professional football then why on earth would you take a holiday in the middle of the season!? As a paying fan it leaves a crappy taste in the mouth but there you go. As for the game, today was the first time I questioned why I bothered paying my hard earned to come and watch, other than the first 25 mins or so we were dier and fell apart. All 5 goals were gifts with the third being an absolute howler which subsequently killed the game off just before half time, although at least it gave their 5 man choir plenty to cheer about(and they call us tinpot). Second half was even worse and it was just a matter of waiting for the full-time whistle to go so we could be put out of our misery.
Defence still need to realise how to hold their shape and not sit so bloody deep, why has this not been addressed? I don't question their commitment and endeavour but they lack serious direction and organisation. Midfield do ok with unners and hyem doing their best to string play together. Hate to single out players, especially as no one playing in red has set the field alight so far, but Ourtilbour doesn't cut it at this level for me. Ok at the basics but lacks physicality and a final ball. Personally, I think Gould needs the ball played to him early so he can run at his man. He's by far our best outlet man and has the pace to cause trouble.
In terms of up top, Ben Yeomans runs hard and puts himself about. Still questions remain about his scoring ability but to be fair the service into our front men has been shocking. Infact set peices, crosses into the box and final balls have been very poor and needs sorting asap, 3 goals in 6 games is testament to that.
To be fair to Farnborough I thought they were a fairly sold team although like all of our other league games, we made the opposition look better than they actually are. Was impressed with their No. 11 who scored a hattrick, was heads and shoulders above any other player on the pitch, even if his physique looked more suited for darts. Also thought their no. 18 was a tidy player. Their No2. was the biggest b###end I have encountered in a long time at the GW, massive ego, no brain. Someone needs to have a quiet word and remind him that playing in evo-stick central div1 doesn't make you a big timer.
So onto Royston, will the team finally sort themselves out or are we in for another painful day of football and will our management team even be there? Who knows, it would though be nice to walk away from Monday being satisfied with the performance because I'll be honest, it's been a long while now
