Just wondering whats going on this season. We seem to be on a path of self destruction as far as discipline goes with a number of red and yellow cards. I don't know how it compares to previous seasons but it seems to be a whole stack at the moment. It must be very disruptive to team selection, continuity etc... Is it because we are under pressure and playing on the edge of our ability or is it just individuals who think they are above the team. I understand that sometimes players will be unlucky with decisions going against them but whatever the cause its costing us very dear at the moment

Was mulling that over yesterday ... well most of us probably were. It's a strange one but I think it has increasingly become something that really needs to be addressed now, because we struggle in games with the full 11 on the pitch let alone 10, 9 etc and the impact of suspensions just adds to the whole ordeal.
I say strange, because when I have watched us this season, I haven't seen too much evidence to suggest we are an aggressive or 'wingey' side. In fact, sometimes I've felt we've been too honest compared to some of the teams that have visited the Glassworld this year and it seems 'professionalism' is part of the game we need to adapt to and get better at to help give us more of an edge.
This definitely all ties into the fact that there is no doubting the refs and assistants are by and large, very, very poor and unfortunately I think more so at this level, than I have witnessed in a long long time, there's is a bit of game to be played with them. Not that its a part of football I like very much.

I agree with what has been said and that we are not a dirty team but for whatever reason be it lack of concentration or out of frustration we have picked up 8 red cards this season compared with 2 last season.
The officials are poor at this level but generally they are poor for both teams and I don't think they can be used as an excuse (not saying that anybody is using it as one).
Until something is done we will continue to lose games we should be winning.

I think we all know which players will let the rest of the team, the management and supporters down by getting booked and possibly getting sent off. This includes unnecessary fouls in unimportant places on the pitch, having a go at the ref (Max as captain can do that) and general poor self discipline. We all saw these features in the game against Fleet, following which the management hopefully reinforced that self discipline is key to having all 11 (and we need all 11!!) players on the pitch. At Aylesbury last Saturday one sending off was blatantly an incorrect decision by the ref. But sadly the other red card was avoidable if the player had controlled himself better - or the management had subbed him once he got booked then maybe the consequences may have been lighter. OK it would have meant juggling the players around but at least saved another Histon red card and yet another fine for the player and more than likely the club. I agree we are not a dirty team, possibly careless and not experienced enough yes - but some players need to think before they let all of us down.
