I was wondering what to write without sounding negative, so I base my comments on the standards we have set ourselves in the last few weeks, and by that benchmark we were very poor in all we did. Usually I can find some players to pick out who played well or really contributed to the team performance in some way but I can't, and I am not going to single out individuals negatively. I don't mind if we give everything and lose but we did not turn up against an average team who were just more cohesive as a unit than us. Incomplete passes, no strategy to threaten the Potters Bar goal, bad marking, no communication and poor decision making when we had the ball generally etc.. caused our downfall. But but on the positive side their bloke doing the announcements did provide a couple of bits of tongue in cheek humour and as usual chat with other travelling fans was decent and made it bearable. BUT all we can do is go again next sat and carry on supporting the team (sounds like a film)
PS Please feel free to change my opinion about today's game..

First of all (I'll start with a positive) can I say well done to the travelling fans. Out of the 123 or so we must have made up at least a third of that if not more. Fantastic to see that kind of support.
This sadly though kind of leads onto the negative. No disrespect to Potters Bar but their set up is, well lets say is average at the very best and their home support, though seemingly loyal, I cant image hits treble figures often. Now without sounding to depressing it does make you wonder how much further we can fall until we actually become competitive? I spose their ground doesnt incur the same amount of running costs as ours does but still you wonder where they get the money from to field a team thats reaching the heights of 7th in the league?
Unfortunately yesterday we started to look like the team we were back at the start of the season. First half wasn't quite as bad and you could argue that had carman scored that 1 on 1 we may have grew in confidence and settled into the game although Im absolutely not saying that hinged on the outcome of the game and performance. It was reminiscent of the chalfont game. We got ourselves into half decent areas of the pitch but we weren't decisive or crisp enough and in the end everything we threw at them ended up fizzling out.
Second half however was the real dissapointment of the day. Again reminiscent of Tuesday, we just didn't turn up. We backed off them allowing them time and space to play and this lead us to naturally sitting deep, which, in the end cost us. That and not offering any threat ourselves upfront. Again just seemed to be little thought or imagination. The last 10 minutes were good but it was too little too late by then.
I think the player that stood out for me was jake chambers-shaw. Looked good on the ball and seemed to be our only player that looked a threat on the ball. Think munro did enough as well to earn a place back in the starting 11 next week.
Apologies if this post seems bleak but there was very little to smile about yesterday other than as you said steve thr tannoy guy cracking a few jokes. Aylesbury did what we should have done the Beaconsfield and thumped them 4-1 which means we have gone from being 1 point behind with a game in hand to 6 points behind within a week or so. We can't afford for the gap to widen anymore and personally I think if we go 9 behind we may as well start preparing for a league derby with Ely next season. Really hope for better next week.

Can't disagree with either of the earlier posts but in addition a couple of observations. It seemed that Potters Bar got the better of the dubious decisions the ref gave (to both teams) throughout he game, but then again that seems the case in most games this season! Secondly, although the wind seemed to drop in the second half Potters Bar played the ball to feet far better when playing into the wind. Finally if astute do drop this year it'll be more of the same next season in the standard of pitch and facilities.

Agree with what has been said above and nothing much more to add really. Just disappointed as I thought we had got over playing like that. As mentioned above, very positive the number of travelling supporters, just a shame the performance was not there to match. I believe from the last couple of games there to be one or two players causing discontent in camp and it will be interesting to see if the bench have seen this and take appropriate action.
All we can do is support the lads in the remaining games and hope they get the points we need to stay up!

Yes Histonfan01 I also felt there was an odd feeling around the team, particularly second half, everyone seemed to withdraw into themselves, went very quiet and failed to really get stuck in, which is strange given our situation. Still we will see on sat.
