Having squirmed with embarassment at yet more cyber-nonsense from some of our keyboard warriors, I've taken the trouble to set up an account in order to hopefully give a better impression of Leeds Utd and those who actually follow them (as opposed to from behind a keyboard) I've been a season ticket holder since 1979 and have also been an away season ticket holder for many years. I've visited 110 league grounds and also 60+ non-league grounds (which I mainly fitted in during the good old days when we actually had blank weekends for internationals!) My "dream" FA cup tie would always be a non-league team away and so I was absolutely delighted with the draw, subject to what I think will be a difficult replay at Northampton. Contary to what most of you will have read/heard, the vast majority of our away following are decent, well-behaved fans and simply enjoy a good day out. It's true that we do have a larger than average element of troublecausers but experience over many years sems to indicate the proportion of these attending away games rises signifcantly with higher away allocations...something not likely to be an issue at your ground I suspect! So if we do get through, ignore the hype about your town being trashed and simply enjoy what I guess will still (despite our recent fall from grace) be one of your bigger games in recent times. And if the worst comes to the worst, it will simply mean I will finally have one of those cherished blank wekends whilst you're playing Northampton...and I'll no doubt be increasing my non-league tally accordingly!

Many thanks for taking the time to post. You'll be made most welcome at Histon should you get through the replay with The Cobblers. It's a fantastic tie for our village club and we're all excited about playing Leeds (or Northampton).

Echo that. Nice to speak with a football supporter. My brother in law lives locally and is a United supporter. He was cringing with embarrassment at some of the Leeds posts!

I can definately consider it to be Histon's biggest game ever, no matter who wins the replay! Thanks for the post

No worries. I'm now in preparation mode for tomorrows cup game at Derby - it feels really strange to be pleased about being "the last Division 3 club" still in the competition!! I love going there - not as good as the Baseball but still always a lively atmosphere and almost a "local derby" for us. Given we could have been at the Withdean instead (500 mile round trip, open away end and pitch about half a mile away...), tomorrow has all the ingredients of a good awayday - can't wait!
