I thought I would start this thread as talk is cheap, from a fans forum where we were promised there were various funding options etc, all I have seen is radio silence!
So from what we have seen so far I wouldn't want you running the operation as communications and secretarial skills seem lacking.
Please keep us informed and let us the fans know how we might help you and the club move forward.
There is no I in team, please I hope prove me wrong!

Now imagine if the Secretary was doing a sponsored silence (as I suggested back on Sept 7th) - think how much he could have raised in that time. That's 155 days ago I reckon so at £1 per day = £155, £5 per day = £775 or even £10 per day = £1550 - food for thought Mr Secretary...........sssshhhhh!

Certainly think improved communication is long overdue! Even a quarterly newsletter or something of that sort would be good to keep us all in the loop. Keeps the fans engaged and reassured that everything is ok behind the scenes and ticking over. It also helps us know how to help the club ie volunteering, giving the club extra help in ares where it's needed etc.
As for the 3g last I heard, finding the extra funds has been harder to come by than first thought. it's not just the pitch that would be replaced, extra changing rooms as well as disabled access would also need to be added in order to make it a community asset. so I guess the costs for all of that are fairly significant. Saying that I also though I heard from somewhere that we have half the money put away for this project so one would think we couldn't be a million miles of getting the extra funding needed for this to happen.
The only other point of interest I will add and this is purely fan speculation. I've read recently on social media etc that if and when Cambridge utd make upgrades to the Abbey they may have to move out for a considerable time. The GW has been branded about as an option due to being the closest ground with the next best facilities. Obviously it would probably still need a bit of work to bring it up to footie league standards but the 'framework' is all in place making it a financially viable option. If this was a possibility I think it would be worth holding off on the project due to the ban on 3g in the football league. A groundshare deal could mean the GW gets a free face lift, considerable added revenue for the club by charging utd for the use of the ground and it may even bring in a few extra bodies through the gate. Food for thought anyway.

Hi Stutes!x I was in Huntingdon today for Commonwealth Day flag raising...thanx to the invite from the Commonwealth Commission! Afterwards I had a jaunt to see all the business friends down the High Street and Charity shops to thank the staff for their effort and free time donated...as I do Nationwide. As I got to the Sue Ryder Shop...Lucy...a lovely old Dear who helps out in there and likes her football shouted..."HEY SOOTY....THERE'S A SHIRT YOU'D LIKE HERE!!!"...and handed me this.....!!!!x I didn't get it....got YCI on the back in big letters....and can't be promoting that......enuff folks have done that around here already...init...hehe!x But I thought i'd share it with you...seeing as your Moguls ain't saying too much else!!!x I do recall a 'scam' of sorts being roused up by Baldwin before he tried to jump ship...a plastic training/5 a side pitch or summink...the then Chairman of the Cambs FA who was 'influence-able' was involved....same bloke who masterminded the moving from City to Histon for the Cambs FA headquarters....thanx to YCI of sorts...wow we are going back some!!! They were looking for grants they could get and I think Angelo was following it up after Baldwin....but that was a few years back and haven't a clue of the above current'chat'....been busy init!x Incidentally...I hope Angelo is 'well'...heard he may not be as well as I last saw him........X LUV SOOTY X Highlights in Huntingdon today!x Edit....ah....forgot....if the U's are up for re-developing the Abbey...again...rather than move to new pastures which is there to do....then these plans are available!!!x Ex Directors of United paid around £70-80,000 for these to be drawn up I recall....or summink like that!! I turned up at the Club one day several years back and caught a Director putting them in the bin....!!!! I salvaged em....perhaps if I donate them to Histon...you could flog em back to the U's...and use the money to keep yourselves going with a new 3G picth...heheh!!x @@ ~ X
