Looks like Gareth is gonna get his cheque book out in January: www.cambridge-news.co.uk/cn_sport_histon/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=365375Where do you think we should be strengthening the squad? I guess we could do with some cover on the wings (although I think Jamma is looking better and better each week - I think he's getting up to match fitness now and starting to look comfortable at this level) but other than that I think the squad is pretty solid at the min and the team are playing well.

Not certain theywill rush out and spend as the heading states. They have always been shrewd and careful, so i guess that won't change. However, this money will stregthen the position greatly. Very welcome indeed.

If they were to add people to the team i would have thought a youngish central midfielder to cover what we already have as i dont see much more from Adie Cambridge, John Kennedy & Neil Andrews (as much as i would love to see them play.)
I was kind of hoping Nat would be back in the first team by now, but obviously not..hopefully he can prove himself before january because i'm sure there are many teams that are interested in him and arent interested in his current form and notice how well he can play.

I can see someone coming in for Lanre in January, the lad oozes class. Good thing is, we will not be under pressure to take any old offer that comes along.

We need to remember the lad is only 18!!!!
If we can hold him on till hes about 20 im sure we can get over £100,000 for him. I'd be brave enough to think he's one of the best wing backs in the league, definatly one of the best players in the league for his age.

Let's wait and see eh? Even if Lanre went at 20 he could still be taken to tribunal and have a fee fixed by them as he'd be under 24. I personally think Popey is an equal to Lanre at right back. It's only my opinion, like the rest us we have our favourites but sometimes I believe we get taken in by the hype. Alot will depend on how we are doing in the league, don't forget if promotion is gained we will need to be full time, a lot of our current squad will not be able to do that as they have full time jobs. It's a great time for the club at the moment but let's just step back and enjoy it at the moment.

Have to disagree Joe, but then we are all entitled to our own opinions which is waht the forum is about. I beleive Lanre is possibly an exceptional full back and will certainly attract attention from some of the bigger boys if that hasn't already happened.

Where could we improve? Have to agree that we maybe need some cover in the midfield, but other than that, we're absolutely solid. In his current form, we have the best GK in the league, Best RB, best CM (Jimpson, I'll wait for the 'no-way' comments) and two absolutely fantastic strikers with a thir one that is right up with them on the bnch.
I don't think we actually need a new player

A right winger, a central defender, and a striker to all challenge our players. Wayne Carlisle from Torquay, Adie Moses from Mansfield and Daryl Clare from Rushden would be nice

Daryl Clare, his wages will be bigger than out whole teams. Plus hes a money maker and hes too old.
I wouldnt mind Tamworth striker Nick Wright, hes only 20-21, top scorer in BSN and already had interest from Blue square premier teams and currently been called up by the England C team,

Wouldn't of thought you needed many more players to be honest. The ones you have are doing well, also there seems to be cover that can slot in as and when required.
Beck was successful with small squads in the past at U's and Preston only using around 15-20 different players over a season if that. No reason why SF and JB can't do it at Bridge Road.

We won't go for big names, that's what we don't do. Bet Steve and John already have a wish list.

The thing is we could potentially lose a few players...
Lanre Oyebanjo Daniel Wright Antonio Murray Patrick Ada Mat Mitchel-King
The will have thought about who may leave and their replacements and maybe just 1 or 2 players to bring in just to add strength and depth.
