Peterborough are a unitary council authority. That means that they are not technically in Cambridgeshire. ;D Who is now the top team in Cambridgeshire? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
We are above F.G.R . Who are now the most successful village team in the whole country? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Please excuse me . I am going back to the large bottle of Red that I have been storing for this moment. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Success is achieved at the end of a season Is that the success you acheived at Weymouth (before we beat them 5-2 ) or the success you acheived before you sacked three quarters of your team including that fine gentleman, Leo Fortune West with his fantastic skills and speed, plus your manager and before you had to close your messageboard and before half your board went too? Lets face it The Trade Recruitment stadium is a SHAMBLES

What? I said ''success is achieved at the end of the season'' and you mention our match at Weymouth? We also haven't sacked a single player, and our message board is open now as it always has been. So...apart from that, well done...you got everything right

Peterborough is in Cambridgeshire as a county. Otherwise, I'll have Teeside back as well.

Localfan do you not consider every match won for a club a success ? If not does that mean you never had a successful result last season ?

I understand your point, but success in football is earned over seasons...nobody has '5th place in September' listed amongst their honours...but maybe you could be a first?
Going above Cambridge on goals-scored for a week or two, or even for a few months, would not make you more succesful overall, would it? Hull City being above Manchester United now does not make them a more succesful club...unless it does, in your view?
Are Arsenal the most succesful club in England? And then Chelsea will be if they win today? No.
I still have no idea what Mike was on about in his post about Weymouth etc? Very odd.

The honour is "The first time Histon were above Cambridge in a league table - 20th September 2008."
Also having a success is different to being a successful club, a successful club in my eyes would be "on going" where as a success could be just one game or something happing.

In that case you fully understand why we feel so good about it ! I would have thought you may have noticed our success over the seasons, and this is another small part in the season and the history of Histon FC.
It appears you are a kind of "Glass half empty " fan.

Ok. We definitely see it differently. For me, being 5th in September means very little, but a good start...something to be pleased with, no doubt, but not much more.
I think celebrating in September is generally a precursor to being laughed at later in the season!

I think what we are celebrating is that for the first time in the history of the club we have reached our highest position ever and for the first time been ahead of Cambridge United. Even if we finish mid table this season it will still have been a first for the club. Or should we wait to see where we finish before we enjoying a bit of club history?

Enjoy it, I've already said that. But I'm surprised it means so much, to be honest.
Cambridge were once top of the Championship, but ultimately the achievement that season, the success, was finishing in the play-offs.
This time last season Stevenage were top, but what happened to them? I guess Dagenham's recent position at the top of League 2 is their highest ever, and may be cause for celebration...I don't know, I guess some fans enjoy those little things?

Why so condescending? Why always the last word? I guess you'll not be watching any of Uniteds FA cup games Localfan as being knocked out even from the last 4 wouldn't be considered successful as you'd win nothing. Try reading your own history and see how your past seasons were considered a success even without winning anything! www.cambridge-united.co.uk/page/History/0,,10423,00.html
