No, it's on par with the Champion's League and we're all in tears at the moment...

Does anyone take this seriously. Sultana should put the pot up to match the subs increase.

Does anyone take this seriously. Sultana should put the pot up to match the subs increase. Our players didn't take it seriously last night that's for sure, Jasper...! It's worth 50k if you end up going all the way to the final and winning it, in culmalative prize money and gate reciepts, not sure United or any club at this level can afford not to take it seriously. Aldershot won it last season, almost made the final of the Trophy and p*ssed the league...dissapointing to see both us us crash out at the first hurdle again. Just a word to the wise as well Josh - I think refering to the U's as "scum" might not be a great idea. It's a friendly rirvarly all-told between the two local clubs, which I think it expressed by the fact a lot of U's fans who don't travel away still come to watch Histon... My (friendly and sincear) advise is to think carefully about this notion of breeding "hate" against United, as it probably isn't going to do anyone anygood...one lady in particular I know has said she's not been up Histon in a while due to all the anti-United songs being sung?! Anyway - that's my advise, take it or leave it. Will

However there is something in the Bible about removing the plank from your own etc etc ! If you have any influence at the Abbey please encourage those few fellow United supporters to be as equally polite to Histon both on this and other sites. I imagine the Lady that you refer to will be just as disgusted by the chanting from the United fans (a small minority ) that will no doubt be heard at the TRS on Boxing Day! Your friendly comments & assistance is appreciated.

Friendly advise - comments noted!
I've not seen any "hate" for Histon from the lads I stand with week in week out to be honest, indeed last night there was a new song unvailed which had reference to hating Peterborough, Colchester, Northampton, Rushden and Stevenage but no mention of Histon...so am pretty sure I can say with a degree of certainty there is no wish/desire for any kind of hatred/rirvarly like that from this side of the river!
That's a good thing as would no doubt hamper the flow of our supporters who come and support you when we're away or don't have a game - if there is a rirvarly then it's much more of a friendly one which as I say is of much better use to you that attempting to nurture some kind of strange hatred//loathing for the U's.
In any case, as I say, take it or leave it!

Must say that i don't find the reference to SCUM in the header is the best piece of literature, or come to that particularly tastful. But then, that is just my opinion, like yours Will. However, i am sure there are others who would agree with the poster and i guess that is what these boards are all about, freedom of choice and expression. I daresay there are many fans from the team you support who refer to Histon in equally offensive terms on your board. Still, it is reassuring to know that you will be offering them your opinion and advice Will.

The most offensive thing Histon are refered to is the conf-ism 'Raciston'. Similarly, other clubs such as NCBA or Altringam receive the same conf-ism treatment.
Will, once you take into account the costs incurred and the chance it'll bugger up your season (Aldershot were the exception which proves the rule), the SS becomes entirely worthless.

sorry to those i have aggravated and offended. this was written in anger as many people on the united boar relate to histon as raciston and that accusing us all as racists. also there are many other rude and abusive comments on there, and their fans expect us to tke this, and histon15, im sure they do!

Raciston is worse than scum.
It's a much bigger thing calling 1000 people racists then 3000 people scum.
But i dont think either are needed.

You've not aggrivated or affended anyone (well not me anyway) Josh, and you're missing the point I'm making and advise I'm giving.
A hostile "hate" relationship between the club/fans isn't going to do Histon FC any good at all but seems to be one you and a few other fans are promoting at times. We all know United have a lot more fans/floating fans than you guys and that quite a few come and watch the Stutes on a semi-regular basis...to hear anti-Untied songs and such like will not help you.

i bet some of the united fans say scum to us . I've never heard Histon refered to as "scum" once - certainly don't hear anti Histon songs, apart from some cheering if you're losing when the half time scores are read out that's about it...! There just isn't that rirvarly or mindset mate. Will

My oh my arent people getting upset. I know nearly all united fans are fair minded and like the growing rivalry between the Stutes and u's and it is good natured. However just a little word of caution to the u's fans. I attended Lynn v U's in preseason as a neutral and heard lots of anti Histon abuse. I actually talked to the lads involved and asked what it was about. All of them commented on their hatred of histon and disgust at playing the stutes. So a little lesson to you lovely u's. GET YOURSELF PROMOTED AND STOP SLAGGING US OFF. Alternately stay where you are and the Stutes will quite happily go up and then you can get really jealous.
