Does anyone take this seriously. Sultana should put the pot up to match the subs increase. Our players didn't take it seriously last night that's for sure, Jasper...! It's worth 50k if you end up going all the way to the final and winning it, in culmalative prize money and gate reciepts, not sure United or any club at this level can afford not to take it seriously. Aldershot won it last season, almost made the final of the Trophy and p*ssed the league...dissapointing to see both us us crash out at the first hurdle again. Just a word to the wise as well Josh - I think refering to the U's as "scum" might not be a great idea. It's a friendly rirvarly all-told between the two local clubs, which I think it expressed by the fact a lot of U's fans who don't travel away still come to watch Histon... My (friendly and sincear) advise is to think carefully about this notion of breeding "hate" against United, as it probably isn't going to do anyone anygood...one lady in particular I know has said she's not been up Histon in a while due to all the anti-United songs being sung?! Anyway - that's my advise, take it or leave it. Will Also Will, that so called 'scum' were Josh's team 4 years ago, funny how they're scum now. I'm the first to admit that i used to watch Cambridge as a little lad, as many others did, but i'm not here calling them scum. Cheers Will. COME ON YOU STUTES!

Magoo, given the depth of feeling towards us looking down on you in the league, i think it is a little churlish to refer to the derby games as having a "novelty value". As for the subject of reciprocation from your end being some kind of pre-requisite for the matches to be endorsed as local Derby's, i must disagree. Clearly, it is seen as much by not only us here, but the media both local and wider and of course those extra heads and bums on seats that boosted your coffers last year. So like it or not, Derby games they are and derby games they will be. The novelty value of how the wider public will see it; ''Plucky Histon with their miracle rise up the leagues play local giant CUFC''. I shouldn't really have to explain that. What do extra people turning up prove? That the fans who are there every week see them as rivals? It takes two to tango sweetheart. Been home and away enough to know we only hear these comments from you Alix. Shame really. That the Setanta Shield is worthless? Will Jones is the only person I know who's ever considered it as competition worth bothering with! Horto: You refer to a team that is more your size as rivals like peterborough. Apart from the facts their 2 leagues above you and hold a ground 'almost' 2 times as large as your own, and also have a lot more money. I don't really seem how you 2 are alike? at least we are in the same league as you, and only 3 minutes away. This is why you'll never be able to understand a proper derby. At the moment they're some way above us (albeit only because of respective money issues) but both clubs natural level is the same, as well as there being history and hatred on both sides. Derby matches don't stop once teams switch divisions. You could say the same thing about 'what similarities are there' when not too long ago they were nearly going out of existence near the foot of the league and we were 90 minutes from the Premiership. Football isn't a constant, which is why you're in league with us and not Ely City, but why in 5 years time we could be 2 leagues above B*ro and heading for the Championship. Proper rivalries and unpredictability are one of the most exciting things about supporting a team.

Yeah, he was so bothered he fielded a side so weak that FGR threatened to take us to the Conference Board over it...

Stephen Drench, Ben Farrell, Josh Coulson, Phil Bolland, Jordan Collins (Anthony Tonkin 89'); Chris Jones (Danny Crow 73'), Mark Convery, Darren Quinton, Felino Jardim (Paul Carden 55'); Chris Holroyd, Lee McEvilly.
I see plenty of first teamers, maybe not Drench, Farrel, Coulson, Collins but the others play quite a lot. its a team good enough to win

That's because there are rules stating that a certain number of players in the team must have been involved in the previous two league games.
We actually asked for special dispensation to play one less player.
Despite this, we obviously played to win...and lost!

PS The idea of once supporting a club, then calling them 'scum' is utterly abhorrent. Can these people only see as far as the end of their own nose? It's bad enough to swap clubs, but to then hate the club you abandoned shows a real lack of dignity.

I see plenty of first teamers, maybe not Drench, Farrel, Coulson, Collins but the others play quite a lot. its a team good enough to win As you have limited knowledge of our team, I thought It'd be best to help you out: Stephen Drench - First ever appearance, not played for well over a year. Ben Farrell - 1st start, being played at right back and not attacking mid which is his natural position. Josh Coulson - 1 appearance Phil Bolland - Regular Jordan Collins - 1st start Chris Jones - 1st start Mark Convery - 2 starts Darren Quinton - 1 appearance in over a year Felino Jardim - Regular Chris Holroyd - 4 starts. Lee McEvilly - Regular There are only 3 players who'd count as first teamers there. Besides, why do I have to defend anyone? Everyone's delighted we're out of that rubbish. As long as we do the same in the FA Trophy, I'll be happy!

I see Mr McGoo, so the FA cup is now on your list of trophy's you don't want to compete in - added to the FA trophy and Setanta sheild - funny how you don't want to be in the draw til after you're knocked though iniit!!! - How awful for us that we now have to play either Northampton or Leeds - bollox mate - we'll still be above you in the league come next May nomatter how many FA cup and FA trophy games more than you we have to play - I'll give you 2-1 odds on that if you want to put your money where your mouth is!!

their not delighted though!!! Brabin wanted to win, and he said it, why try and deny it :S Every manager says they want to win it, if they said they were going to put out the weakest side possible and pray to lose then the FA/Conference would most likely punish them for it. Of course we take the FA Cup seriously, and I'm gutted that we're out. The Trophy and SS are totally different things though, and I'd happily be out of both (I believe I've said on here I didn't want to take either seriously before they were drawn, that includes last year!) without playing a match.# If it's a bet you're after, if we're ahead of you when we meet on NYD, you buy me a pint and vice versa?
