Joe Carden has signed for St Ives

Gleeson and Bexfield signing is good. Shame about Carden, but not surprised. Would have hoped he'd go higher than them.

Any news about other players?

It would be coup of the year if we managed to keep hold to Sam Ives. Shame about Joe as I'm sure he would have been guaranteed more football with us! No doubt he'll have to fight hard for his place there but best of luck to him! Gleeson and Bexfield signing on is a brilliant start. Could do with gould, allen, norman and clayton to follow. Would like to see how joshy gets on at this level, just needs to find that consistency.

Feel free to point out anyone I have missed. If all of the above sign then its down to glees, fall and the board to pull off a few decent signings from the leagues below. Also if we can get it done early then getting a loanee or two in could be very useful as well.

Not seen anything else about other players but will update on here if I see anything from any sources.
I'm feeling slightly more positive about next season, just need the board and management to make decent decisions and we should be ok!

Looks like a friendly has been arranged against a Peterborough Xl at the Glassworlds on the 2nd of August

Hopefully they bring some well known players and we get a decent turnout.

The below is an extract from an article on the Hunts Post website. Both played for Godmanchester Rovers the season just gone.

''But highly-rated goalkeeper Niall Conroy and centre-back Lloyd Groves have notified Cambridge they will not be back.
Both players are understood to be targets for Southern League Division One (Central) side Histon, while Conroy has also been invited to Southern League Premier Division outfit St Neots for pre-season training.''

As there is a link to Goddy (Matty Clements), I wouldn't be surprised if there are more than one or two Goddy players talking to Fal. Particularly as Goddy came second in their league and beat the eventual league winners (Norwich Utd) Twice ! Some really good players in that team and three of 'em live in Histon.

Sam Ives has signed for St Ives Town

That's a blow, but not a surprise he's left. Very surprised he has gone there. He could play Conference North/South level for sure. St Ives must be throwing a lot of money around trying to buy success.

Guessing Histon have started preseason training now, anybody heard or seen anything about what's going on? The club website, facebook and twitter are showing nothing as usual.

In unrelated news. Mr City, A.K.A Gary Roberts is off. Things really havent gone well in pre-season and whoever takes over there will have a massive job on their hands. Made me laugh on their forum when they immediately brought up Falls name into the fray, why would he want to go anyway. No ground as of yet, no players, reduced attendances, pressumably a falling budget. I think he's more than fine here.

Anyway, back on topic. Would be nice to hear some news soon, even if there's not much to report on, touching base with the fans would be good. I see we have a fans forum coming up in July, so will be good to get a clear understanding of the current state of play with the club. I just hope this time we've been a bit more sensible with the budget for this season.

Twitter seems to be hinting that City wan Dan Gleeson. Would free up some of our budget.

Squad update from the club. Max York is back, Sibanda, Allan, Bexfield plus Nial Conroy-Owen, goalkeeper from Godmanchester. Some good signings before. Hopefully more soon and the other young lads from last season stay.
