Sorry- the "why" meant "why would it be better to go to the abbey?" to Hortoooo etc. Thanks for the other advice and encouragement, ftm i wouldnt particuarly go there, there is a far better family feel to histon fc ! you will be welcomed to histon, whereas up cambridges two clubs i doubt you would recieve that! how many of you are coming and how old. also i would suggest the hill stand, this is the opposite side to where you come in. its not generally too busy in here, however you will find it hard to get a group of seats in the main or redgate stand! There will be six of us altogether. Ages from a small 7 year old (the football enthusiast), an 8 year old boy, a nine year old girl, a fifteen year old boy, my husband (over 50) and myself (ageless). Thanks for the advice- I really appreciate it!

We've just been giggling about the You Tube video of Histon playing in the fog "Histon mess up". Luckily it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow!

My family attend all home games (and many away games). My children are 3 boys (aged 8, 6 & nearly 3yrs) and a 4month old girl. We choose to sit in the main stand which is fairly central to the pitch and higher up. Probably good to get seats but probably for a first visit I would choose not to pay the £1 upgrade to the stand and sit on the seats on the far side which a free (assuming they aren't all segregated in the away end (check with the turnstile operators). You can moreorless always get tickets on the gate - but don't leave it too close to kick-off. Hope you enjoy it and get as addicted as we are. Personally I would not choose to go to the Abbey (unless Histon are playing there for an away match) because I find the language there a lot more abusive (well abusive all the time). I don't mean you'll never hear a rude word at Histon, but my opinion is that you'll hear them a lot less!

Yeah your more than welcome to Histon and I'm sure you'll be greeted with a friendly hello.
Today should be a very good game seeing both teams are in good form leading up to this so you shouldn't be disappointed. In reference to where you should go in the ground, it depends what you want. I personally would say go in the Redgate, it's the stand nearest to the goal next to the rec and as far as I see every game, your free to just trundle up there and sit where you like.
If you get in early enough it should be fairly empty in there and as long as your not sitting in a reserved seat you should be ok.
I would recommend you get in the ground at around 2:30-2:40ish if you want to sit down, but if you did want to stand up then I reckon behind the goal would be a good place to go.
Hope that helps. ;D

Excellent. Always nice to have more fans coming through and enjoying the afternoon. I've got an extra 3 people that don't normally come coming up with me, which should be godd. Enjoy today.
Back to the score, I think 2-2, it will be very hard today against the league's highest goalscoring team. Thankfully there will be goals, as there hasn't been a 0-0 involving Histon for 57 games according to the BBC!

Wouldn't say they were that poor. In the first half they pushed it around quite nicely and created openings. But, the second half was a completely different story, we were quicker, sharper and picked the game up by the scruff of the neck and took it to them. Thouroughly deserved victory on that performance and we should probably have had a couple more goals. A very big win indeed and good to see a decent turn out with some excellent vocal support which added to the excitement of the game. Judging by the reactions of the players at the end, they certainly believe in what can be achieved from here. A BIG WELL DONE

A very strong and controlled performance. Always nice to put one over on that idiot Evans. I thought they played more football than last year when we again stuffed them but still a very cynical side...lots of elbow and Evans never shuts up. We gave them a little too much respect in the first 45 but second half we were too strong. Thought everyone played well but Gwills,Patrick and Kingy were superb.

A brilliant match. A real battle in the first half and domination by the Stutes in the second period. The best home match of the season(so far)! The m.o.m for me was Patrick Ada but everyone earned their match fee today! And we have knocked them off the top of the league!

Great game. Thought that Crawley were amazing upffron, although abut as stable as me wit a chocolate cake infront of me in the second. A very good performance though. Now we can knock Kettering off the top ;D
